Do you think that most jobs will be taken over by AI ?
There is a lot of talk about AI replacing most jobs anytime soon. But having worked a lot with AI, I don't know if that is marketing or whether it's true and what the time horizon is. What is your take on that?
Will AI replace most jobs? What is your take on that and what is the time horizon according to you?

Artificial intelligence has the potential to transform many employment sectors.
Although that doesn't mean that most jobs will be replaced.
It may cause repetitive work.
And some routine tasks are automated.
Therefore, it causes a reallocation of human labor to more complex and creative types of work.
As for the timing, It's hard to say when that will happen.
This is because it will depend on many factors.
including technological advancements and how the industry adapts.
However, it is critical that both governments and businesses prepare for these changes through continued education and training.

When I heared these AI company owners promissing that jobs will be replaced fast and completely, I wasn't really questionning it. Now that I worked quite a lot with AI, I see it more like you. it will be just another tool that we can use to increase productivity. But it won't replace all humans anytime soon.
I think some jobs might, especially those that can be automated and doesn't require human hands (and brain), but most won't be affected. AI may advanced even more, but still can't takeover everything.
I called a company and I was answered by an AI. It didn't get me and I almost got crazy on my end of the phone. So it will take quite some time I believe :-)
I think it will take over some jobs not most; in fact, in some industries that's already happening, but other jobs related to AI management are also being created. Interesting times lie ahead in that regard.
I know some companies who were implementing AI and had to step back because the AI's didn't perform as well as expected.
No, it's not ready to yet. It the future it may take away some more menial stuff, but will be a tool to help with most advanced jobs. Time will tell!
I totally agree. I called the swiss post and was interviewed by an AI that didn't understand what I was saying and I had to call 3 different times to reach the place I wanted.

I think the easier jobs will be taken over, but specialized jobs will be tough for AI to get there. I think its good at common stuff, but it gets way too expensive to train good models to do those specific things down the line. So it will be costly to get someone who can replace a specialist.
I think AI is useful to research easy stuff that can be wrong but I dont' think it's ready to replace human beings at the moment.
In my opinion, AI jobs will be created and people will be promoted from an operator to an intellectual manager, and artificial intelligence will be their assistant, but a large percentage of jobs will also be lost
There are definitely use cases where ai can make human more efficient but I think we need to find the exact tasks where ai brings added value and not try to substitute everything with ai.
I am 63 years old and plan to continue tutoring math (precalc, trig, calc) as long as anyone with a brain wants to learn it. I also have skills like altering bridal gowns which no robot is going to do well. I will be part of the monastery that preserves the ancient wisdom until the dark ages pass and someone rediscovers human thinking. My physical library is formidable already.
What I hate most about AI, though, is that we won't know how it has stunted children's brains until it is too late. Adults unable to check calculations or reason whether those calculations are lies or truth, combined with adults unable to read and research physical books from the past (unaltered) on their own, will be easy to deceive and control. I don't know that freedom-loving, intelligent humans will be able to counteract that authoritarian drive quickly enough to stay free. !BBH

That's true and we still require people to work on the computers...
No, AI can't replace humans in most of what we do. And if at some point it succeeds, I'm afraid that by then we will have stopped being really human. I hope we are able to take advantage of its advantages and minimise its drawbacks as much as possible.
Last week I called the swiss post and I was welcomed by an ai that asked me what I wanted to transfer me to the correct person. I didn't get any of what I said and it wanted to identify me with my address and my birthdate for an information about a mail service... So in the end I told it I wanted to speak to its supervisor so that he could then transfer me to the place I needed... We are far away from AI replacing humans I believe...
For now it seems rather that humans serve and adapt to AI rather than the other way around. 🙃😂
I don’t think so. Some jobs will indeed face difficulties and problems due to the speed at which AI is being developed and implemented, but in other areas, I don’t see how AI will be able to do everything on its own. I even think it’s risky to let it do everything by itself, so I believe that for some jobs, human labor will always be necessary.
I see quite a lot of companies slowing down with AI adoption for cost and also quality reasons. I think we are still far from ai really taking jobs over.
It shouldn’t but it will! It is already taking! Especially the more repetitive tasks jobs l costumer service, telemarketing, transcriptiom, translation, etc.
I encountered it in customer services and to be honest it sucked big time and I complained to the management about it...

Hmm I think some jobs will be lost but new jobs will be created. Quoting what Nvidia CEO said, You're not going to lose your job to an AI, but you're going to lose your job to someone who uses AI.
Even about that I'm not really sure. Using AI reduces our capacity to be creative and to take decisions. I think as there are some it specialists, there will be some AI specialist that help implement tools but I think that a lot of jobs will have nothing to do with ai.
Many jobs will probably go, after all, "jobs" were inventions of the Industrial Revolution, but AI is part of a new revolution, and "jobs" to the new revolution are what domestic weavers were to the Industrial Revolution - redundant.
The economy always tries to reduce the workforce through automatisation in a way or another but I think the AI card will need quite some time to really replace workforces.

That's quite true.
Taken over? Many jobs still need a human in part of the job. The way I see it is AI working with humans to do jobs better. AI is quicker. Humans have experience and both of their memories are different for example, which is one factor of they think about the job and doing it in different ways. AI will take over jobs in time, while humans will change how they work and live.

AI is great to collect data and maybe present it in a nice way and it can maybe also make a nice power point. But it's not creative and it can't take decisions the way a human would.

Jokes apart, someone will still need to give instructions. AI is tool to help.
Low level jobs that can be automated and managed using AI will surely get affected.

I realised the more I used ai, the less creative I was and the more difficulties I had to take decisions by myself. I'm not sure that AI will be implemented in all places. Some jobs might be affected and ai can be used as a tool there but most important jobs will be bypassed by ai.
I think at this moment no, because AI still very error prone. Give it another 5 years, almost 85% of jobs will be taken over
Totally agree on that.
I think that this is a similar scenario to the introduction of office PCs. The cry was that all office staff were redundant.
I believe that just as it didn't happen then, it won't happen now. Because work patterns always change to match the tools that are available.
