Splinterlands: News that is pumping SPS and DEC.

If you are an active Splinteland's player than I guess that you are already aware of the news and already made a move to hold and accumulate your bags. Even if you are a casual player or an investor, you will be noticing that both SPS and DEC are moving through the positive cycle and have their price increased more than 10% compared to last year's closing price. If you try to find the reason of the price increase in Splinterlands current post in blockchain then I guess you might be unable to figure it out as actual news is one of the old post of Splinterlands and now augmented by the Discord announcement.

SPS that was trading in the range of the .006 USD is now trading at range above .008 and I am expecting it to get to the range of .01 and may be more on the basis of the players accumulation and holding goals. Also I feel that it will move around 175 million of SPS from players to the SPS DAO.

Though this news has a positive impact on the DEC price too, I feel SPS might be more benefited with this news unless there is some kind of price mechanics reversal that is currently favoring SPS to be spent for purchase currently will favor DEC to be spent.

So here the News

In the month of August 2025, a SPS DAO proposal (that was passed too) proposed for the creation of the mini-sets Escalation. Though the proposal was later amended for having standard pack sets only . instead of Alchemy and Legendary packs too as in the current Conclave Arcana. This also further increased the quantity of standard packs to 550K which also included 50K reserved packs for the DAO.

So in the recent announcement in Discord, the team has announced the launch date of February 10, 2026, after which a positive price action is observed in both SPS and DEC prices.

Price dynamics to consider.

Team has set the price of the mini set pack as 5 USD/5000 credits/5000 DEC or 350 SPS. 5000 Credit or 5 USD fixes the price of packs at $5, but pricing on a fixed quantity of DEC and SPS makes the price of packs dynamic.

At writing this post, DEC is $0.0006616 and pack price of 5000 DEC makes it $3.3 need to be spent for purchasing the packs. But when it come to SPS it current price is $0.0082303 and 350 SPS make it $2.88 per pack.

Now $2.88 is less than the current market value of the rebellion packs that are valued around $3. I expect that these packs will get traded for around $4 that will might cause DEC price to increase to .008 or SPS to .11.

But overall this look complex, which token will be used or will it cause some kind of harmony in market in coming days between these tokens where 5000 DEC price equates to 350 SPS.

If I see current market prices, spending SPS looks a sane choice.
