As I've been trying to improve my game, one of the things I'm looking at is what the top players in the game are doing. Now there are a variety of tools out there to check win rates by card or top cards used, but the one I've been using recently which I want to draw attention to is the Splex battle analysis tool. It is accessible by going to https://splex.gg/, clicking on "Battle" at the top, and then looking up a user. Splex only maintains 30-day data for players who have a SPLEXOMEGA or a SPLEXPRIME account, so that means the data isn't available to every user.
So what I do is I check Leofinance to see who holds these tokens:
Then I find players in the list that meet my criteria. In my case, I'm interested in top Diamond and Champion level players in Modern. It's more reliable to check for SPLEXOMEGA given that SPLEXPRIME is a temporary benefit that has to be redeemed by the holder. Here are some SPLEXOMEGA users I've been looking at:
Then, I select "30d" to see their card usage and win rates for the last 30 days. Here's what the top of that list looks like for @orrkis for example:
From looking at a handful of top players, the top cards used, for the most, are:
For top players who have them, these Untamed/Untamed rewards/Dice cards get used a lot:
Here are some of the most used CL/CL rewards cards:
Also, here are some cards that are used LESS by these players than I would've expected. This isn't necessarily an indication that these are bad cards of course, however it does suggest (particularly for players with high win rates) that these aren't their go-to cards for many situations.
It's not a conclusive analysis, but gives some ideas as to where to optimize. For myself, I looked at the lists above and concluded I may be over-using or under-using certain cards, and have been experimenting with new tactics.
Are there any cards in the lists above that surprise you? Have you found specific players you analyze whose card picks are particularly interesting?
