If You Don't Hold It...

Back in 2013 I came very close to purchasing ONE bitcoin. The value had just passed $150 and I thought I had "missed the boat" as I was first introduced to Bitcoin in 2012 when it was under $100. I was in a much better place financially back then, I was newly married and had bank. I could have bought it, if I wanted to back then.

But instead of investing thousands into a digital currency, I bought one PHYSICAL coin. I joked that this one oz of copper would be worth more than a bitcoin someday. What a dumb thing to say.

While I don't have that bitcoin, I do still have this coin from 2013. And it still looks spectacular! I think I would have a difficult time selling it for $80K though.

On ebay these are valued at about $10 - $15. Ocassionally they'll sell for more, sometimes they sell for just a few dollars.

Truth is, if I had purchased BTC, I would have sold it when it reached $500 or in 2017 once it reached over 10K. I don't know if I would have been able to resist selling (diamond hands) all the way to 100K.

Do you have any physical crypto tokens?

I sold a few bitcoin to buy a house that I have since, lost in a divorce. Can't live in the past, I'm slowly re-adding bitcoin as and when I can, in small amounts.

Bought a house with bitcoin? Only a few can say that, I would suppose! Sorry you don't have it anymore, but still it's always best to keep looking forward and not think about what could have been in the past - I'm also speaking to myself here obviously, since my post was thinking back to 2013. The wild ride of Bitcoin isn't over, either it's going to a million or it's going bust.

Good story, @gratefuleveryday, about what might have been. You've honestly said what many might hold back on acknowledging. The likelihood, even if you had purchased it, that you would have held on to it.

Given the roller coaster ride of crypto investing, very few could honestly say they would still own theirs.

"Do you have any physical crypto tokens?"

The closest is to have bought and HODLed PAXG, which claims to have physical gold backing it. Is that actually true? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

Yes, it's easy to dream about holding a bitcoin purchased in it's infancy, but all it takes is one impulse to sell it, thinking you're making out at 5K or 10K.

Is that actually true?

Any token that claims to be backed by physical assets is that - a claim. My assumption is that any claim like that must be true, but unless there's a third party verifying it, I would force myself to be a bit of a skeptic. I suppose as long as the token value matches the gold, it doesn't matter, until gold goes up like a mega-rocket, then it'll put the value to the test.

My kids found a Doge coin at an amazon returns store. They have it. The other day I was at another amazon returns place and it had a physical Bitcoin and some other coins. I thought it was pretty cool, but they didn't come home with me...I got distracted elsewhere. πŸ˜€

I only own one silver coin, its my friend that holds it.

These days I think Titan X tokens are like buying Bitcoin in 2011... but who knows the future? No one.

like buying Bitcoin in 2011

Except bitcoin wasn't a shitcoin scam by an anonymous creator and we know the identity of the scammer's alias behind the Titan X project.

The physical coins are interesting as a physical representation of a digital asset. Back when bitcoin was about $500, people used to sell physical coins on the street for a few hundred and people thought they were getting a really good deal and show off their "bitcoin"... until they realized they were scammed and didn't own any actual bitcoin, even though they were holding the physical coin in their hand. !BBH

I bought a bunch of them with the 2012 Dates... I passed many of them to friends after putting them in Plastic Capsules...

That's great! The 2012 version is more valuable as a collectable than the 2013 version I have. I hope your friends held on to them. !BBH

I'm glad I put them in the Plastic Capsules before handing them out...

I heard people say that we have less than nine years left before 99% of all bitcoin is mined…..
No financial advice, my friend, but I treat bitcoin as our dollar cost average savings account.
Of course it’s always good to make sure you have precious metals that can be easily converted to cash if needed πŸ˜‡

Bitcoin is outdated in 2014.

Check also the bad distribution here: https://www.lassecash.com/@pele23/the-bitcoin-inequality-2at

You are basically giving your energy to the banksters by buying Bitcoin...

If you want a savings account on steroids, I recommend Titan X... but know its EXTREMELY RISKY and VOLATILE, it its fair crypto unlike 95%.

Also check my comment on @gratefuleveryday 's post for more details.

That's the kind of advice that made @weedbook pissed at you for losing him so much money and he left Hive.

but know its EXTREMELY RISKY and VOLATILE,

Every crypto scam you've promoted is like that.

I still have a feeling that physical metals will still be a better investment, if things go way down south, we're going back to WEIGHT and not mater how desirable or valuable bitcoin is, it will never have weight. !BBH

Very true my friend, I keep adding to my precious metal stack!πŸ‘πŸ˜Š

That's one beautiful coin, Benjamin, and I feel you on not buying Bitcoin when it was soooo low. I could have bought it for just a little bit more. Now I'll just keep acquiring and stacking it. 😁 πŸ™ πŸ’š ✨ πŸ€™

I have to remind myself to not look into the past, but look forward into the future. Sometimes a glimpse back serves as a reminder to... well to not do that. While some say the future is gloomy, I actually think we're past that and the future is bright, swinging back and forth like the daytime and nightime.

0.00004861 BEE

Yes, I understand that, and me too. Exactly that our past mistakes simply inform our future decisions. I very much agree with you on that, the darkness is waning and everything is shifting very quickly in a beautiful direction. It's time for the light of truth. 😁 πŸ™ πŸ’š ✨ πŸ€™

Well its a valuable lesson.

I got 20 btc april 2013, but didnt have them for long.... 50 dollars each...

Mind that Bitcoin was outdated in 2014 when other coins were already better... as far as I know delegated proof of state was first implemented in 2015 by Daniel Larimer and that is game over for POW, as POW is polluting a lot...

I would recommend, forget promoting Bitcoin, as its outdated in 2014... and maybe learn about Titan X, it could be the next big winner.. you can get a billion right now for $165.32 , it seems very cheap to me.

The most important sites:

TitanX.Win
TitanXHub.Com

Where you should be able to find all the white papers and stuff.

Thats my 2 lassecash :)

You claim that Bitcoin was outdated the moment you became a crypto scam promoting dumbass and lost all your Bitcoin.

And Bitcoin just keeps growing in value.

What a coincidence!

0E-8 BEE

Outdated? That’s a silly take. !LOLZ

0E-8 BEE

Polluting like Sweden or Finland and its growing.

LasseCash, Titan X no pullution.

Also BTC has slow and expensive transactions and barely any smart contracts.
