RE: Women’s Rights in the Muslim World [ENG-URDU]

I agree that not all Muslims give women the rights I mentioned. That’s why I believe the real problem is followers practicing the religion in the wrong way, instead of blaming the religion itself. I know many people who think women shouldn’t earn for themselves. In reality, within certain reasonable boundaries for both men and women, both can earn if they want to. Some people claim that religion does not allow women to work, but this is a misrepresentation. That is exactly why I highlighted multiple examples from religious history in my blog above.

Regarding Catholics or other religions, I haven’t personally observed Catholic communities around me, so I’m not fully aware of their practices. However, I do have Hindu and atheist friends in my real-life social circle here in Pakistan.

Note:

I was banned from r/feminism for sharing about blog aimed at uplifting and encouraging Muslim women. My intention was not to undermine feminism, but to highlight that many problems come from followers misapplying religion rather than from the religion itself. I emphasized women’s right to work, make choices, and be financially independent, supported by examples from Islamic history.

Feminism should include all women, including Muslim women, even when their contexts or perspectives differ. Supporting women within their cultural and religious realities is still feminist work, because the goal is the same: improving women’s lives and expanding their rights. Disagreement is fine, but silencing this perspective and banning it without explanation feels contrary to the inclusiveness that feminism stands for.
