Stay calm and blog on
It seems as if it was just days ago I was posting about Hive regaining some traction and hitting 0.09+ cents per token. Hold up, wait a minute - it was just a few short days ago. To be exact about a week ago as indicated by my post titled The Hive Token goes on a RALLY! Today I hit you with something much different. Today we see the hive token dip below the $0.05 cent threshold. Currently the Hive Token is valued at $0.048X per token (today's date is 2026-06-07). It's a head scratchier for sure. Hive has all the makings for success. A dedicated core user-base, long standing apps (Splinterlands), many front-ends (Ecency, Peakd, Hive.Blog, ect.), new developments (Holozing), 2nd lawyer token creation that is more affordable than a night out (TribalDex) but yet here we are dipping below $0.05. With all such aspects pulling towards success why are we experiencing what seems to be an ever lasting dip (with some spikes here n there). Some point to the spending of the Hive Fund. I'll stay way from that saturated point and will give some other view-points.
Success - lets define it
Does the dipping USD value of the Hive Token indicate failure? No, we can't determine a Blockchains success on its tokens USD trade value alone. A tokens USD trade value is one factor in an ever moving wheel that contains many spokes. Sure, a tokens fluctuating USD value is the one spoke many look at first. For some the only spoke they notice. Truth be told, Hive or any blockchain can be successful regardless of its token value. Even if we get an influx of users - there is still a chance our token becomes what I will call a utility token. Massive influx of participants doesn't always mean higher token value. There is a chance such means diluted value. So even with the success of capturing a huge user-base we still might see the Hive Token at $0.05 per token (or lower). So in the outcome that is stated here where does the value come from if not the token itself? Our information being our own and not owned and sold by and to corporations comes to mind. But since most are more interested in the financial aspects I'll do just that. Sticking to the financial aspect, an example of a way for builders to earn on Hive regardless of token USD value has already been shown. Splinterlands has done it already -- introduce Papal for Credit purchases (onsite trades) and if possible Credit Card purchases (all modern websites utilize such).
App Purchases is where its at
App purchases is where ongoing businesses can earn on Hive. App purchases can bring added value to the Hive Token and the Hive Blockchain. If Hive were to get an influx in its user-base - I bet app purchases is going to be one of the leading ways that fiat is infused to the chain. Splinterlands introduced the community to CREDITS via Paypal and we need more of that. App purchases is a key factor in the financial success of today's social media sites. Yes, I know; the Hive Blockchain is much more than a social media site but Hive does have ability and apps for social interactions. Every app on the major sites utilized easy fiat transactions, usually through paypal or credit card purchases.
You can't go on Facebook without someone shoving an app or game down your feed or in messenger chat. Such games/ apps that almost always has online purchase options. Fact is, we live in a fast world, a right now world, an instant gratification world. If we don't provide instant satisfaction the world isn't likely going to pay attention to us regardless of how awesome we are. Yes, humans are that fickle. Paypal option/ credit card option for our purchases need to be easily found and utilized. Sign up and sign in requiring just a username and email for basic interactions like posting (without the need to download additional apps to achieve - the less hurdles the better). This isn't the age of patience. This is the age of right here, right now or I'll go elsewhere. That is the world we live in now. No amount of money saving (Hive Fund cutbacks) is going to change that. Put shortly --- we need to create comfort and ease of use. We need to have that paypal logo stationed in the corner of every front-end. Spontaneous and impulse purchases, convenience -- that is the world we live in now.
