The Hive Barometer 30.5.2025 - Positive Outlook by the Community
In the context of our latest Liotes Mission, we asked the community how they evaluate the future of Hive. We specificity asked them to rate where Hive will be in one year from now.
How the Barometer is working
We asked the community to give a score and we would then take all the scores of the all the people taking part and evaluate the average which would define the Hive barometer.
How the community was asked to give their score
In order to have something that is comparable from one person to the next, people had to give us a number according to the following parameters:
- If one year from now, they believe that Hive would cease to exist, they would give 0 points
- If they had the feeling that Hive would be at the same level than today, they would give a score of 50.
- If in one year, they believe that Hive would have the same importance than BTC, they would give 100 points
The scores given are therefore very subjective. So each user gave us a score according to his own gut feeling and how he sees hive and the future of hive. 32 people took part in this poll and we had answers reaching from 35 to 100 points. The overall average score was 58 points.
Positive outlook
This means that the community as a whole sees hive in a positive light with a small increase in importance and value within the next year. It's nice to see that the big majority sees the future evolution of hive positively. That's a nice vote of confidence for the blockchain I believe.
A big thanks to all the people who have taken part in this poll. We will do a similar poll in the future so that we can compare how the mood of the community is evolving...

I think 58% is a pretty good result, and I kind of expected it to be above 50% because most of us responding are still here on Hive.
That's true, we got only the feed-back from the people who are still on hive with is a population of people who tend to be rather positive about the platform.

That's a good question. I think that both numbers would be quite close from each other.
hmmm, should the HP put a weight on everyone number? so not only the number or participants !ALIVE
That would be also an idea how to calculate it but it would give too much weight to big accounts and I believe that for such a measure it doesn't really matter to know how much HP each person has.
It seems like most people have similar feelings to me. :)

It's great to see such positive feedback and confidence in Hive's future.

Looks like most of the Liotes community are pretty logical people! I don't think anyone can really expect HIVE to be on the same level as BTC, short of some miraculous life changing app being built here! 🤣

To be honest, 58% sounds better than the frequent moping I see around Hive would suggest... so maybe we really are moving in the right direction!
It's refreshing to see that people are in general not that negative about hive. Maybe it's only the ones that are pesimistic that are heard...
