Why I Chose Moonkart as My First Play to Earn Game on Arcade Colony

Welcome back,

I have never played any play to earn games in my entire life, and I think it is finally time for me to choose a game to play and earn. Since I write on the Hive blockchain, I believe that is the best platform for me to pick a game from.

There are already many games that I know about, such as Splinterlands, Moonkart, Holozing, and others, but I have decided to pick Moonkart for myself because it is related to racing.

When I was a kid, I used to play Need for Speed, and Most Wanted was my favorite racing game during my childhood.

That is one of the reasons why I am interested in Moonkart. Today, I am going to share what I have learned about the game so far. I have not played it yet, but I have already learned quite a lot about it.

In the screenshot below, you can see the page where I was able to create my account and run the game.

That was the loading screen for Moonkart, and it was lagging quite a bit on my ASUS RTX 3050 at first, so I was worried about performance. Thankfully, once the game finished loading, it started running smoothly.

To play the game, you simply have to register using your Hive account. You need to provide your email address and your Hive account name, and then confirm the transactions through Hive Keychain.

That is how your account gets created on Arcade Colony, and after that you can play any game available on the platform.

Below, you can see that I was given a free auto vault, which I claimed. I am not completely sure what it does yet, but I believe it is related to storing or managing in game assets. That is just my assumption for now.

You can also see that there are many options available, such as adding power ups, tech cards, exhausts, rims, karts, and drivers. To play the game properly, you need to own these NFTs. At that point, I started wondering where to find them.

So I explored the Arcade Colony platform further, and in the screenshot below, you can see the marketplace where all these NFTs are listed for sale.

From what I understand, there are 5 NFTs that are mandatory to play the game. These are exhaust, rim, kart, driver, and accessories. These are the basic requirements.

If you want to directly access the marketplace, you can click on the link below and check the prices for different karts, drivers, and other NFTs. After doing some calculations, I think that around $1 to $1.5 USD is the minimum investment required to start playing the game.

I am planning to invest very soon, but right now I am still deciding where exactly to put my money. I can see that there are only a few drivers available, and they are priced very differently.

Some drivers cost around $0.20 USD, while others are as cheap as $0.06 USD. This made me curious about the difference between them.

If anyone has knowledge about which driver is better, or whether the driver actually has an impact on gameplay, please let me know. That will help me decide which one to buy.

As for the Karts, as you can see in the screenshot below, there are only two types available. One is a gold Kart and the other is a normal. The price difference is quite noticeable. The gold costs around $1.20 USD, while the normal costs around $0.27 USD.

So these are the main things required to play the game. I am planning to start playing Moonkart very soon, maybe in the next few days. Before that, I just want to do a bit more research so that I can make better decisions.

For now, that is all for this blog.

Thank you and happy trading everyone.
