My First Earning

There is always a first time in everything, some of this first time are filled with excitement, while some are filled with lessons. Namaste 🙏 my indiaunited family, I am super excited to share with you all how excited I was when I earn money for the first time in my life.

I want to take you all back to my school days, when I was still in secondary school. There was this particular Christmas when many people visited village, you know they see Christmas period as time when they will be off work, time to rest and spend quality time with their families home or abroad. So many people came back from where they were staying. We that were the village champions will visit them, as we visit, they will always give us small amount of money. You remember that saying 'little drops of water makes an ocean' right! Instead of me spending the money carelessly, I will always give it to my mother to keep for me. Before you know it, I was able to save up to ₦30 then.

I started thinking of how to increase the money. I talked to my mother about it, she encouraged me and promised to support me if Im serious and come up with any idea and so I began to think of what to sell. Then I remembered that my school is quite far from where they are selling snacks. I reasoned, it will not be a bad idea if I start to sell groundnut. I told my mother to use the money I have saved to buy groundnut for me, my mother did, and even taught me how to fry it, that was how my little business started.

When I made my first profits, it was double my capital, you need to see how excited I was. The joy of knowing that I made it through my own effort, I was so proud of myself and also greatful to my mother who took her time to see me through it.

From that time, I started saving, and also learnt the importance of hard work. I started using my free time wisely and become more determined. Up till my married life, I have maintained that same spirit of hard work. That spirit has helped me to always look for ways to be productive and earn more money. That spirit has helped me to venture into different businesses to support my family.

My first earning is a moment of great excitement that I will never forget in a hurry, because it has taught me important lessons that is still guiding me till today. Thank you for stopping by my blog. I still remain @sarahbaby.
