Hey, All!
Even in today’s time, when social media has become such a huge part of everyone’s life, I often ask myself why I don’t feel too carried away by it. Everywhere I look, people are scrolling, posting, or spending hours online but deep inside, I know that my energy and focus belong somewhere else. I give more value to my studies, my career and the bigger goals I have set for myself. It doesn’t mean I don’t use social media at all. I just try to keep it in its place instead of letting it take over mine.
The truth is, I stay attracted to my studies and dreams because I remind myself constantly of the kind of life I want to build. I know that a few hours of distraction may feel fun in the moment but in the long run, it adds nothing valuable to who I want to become. Whenever I feel tempted to waste time, I think about how much satisfaction I will feel when I achieve something real, whether it is good marks, a successful career or even small steps towards my goals. That feeling of progress is far more lasting than the temporary buzz of likes or views.
I also make small but effective choices every day. For example, I keep my study space clean and separate from where I usually sit with my phone. This makes it easier for me to switch into focus mode. I often set short targets for myself, like finishing a chapter or revising a topic, and only then allow myself a short break. In those breaks, instead of endlessly scrolling, I prefer listening to music, walking a little, or talking to someone close. This way I relax without drowning in distractions.
Another thing that helps me is clarity. I know why I am studying and what I want out of it. When your “why” is strong, distractions naturally lose their power. I don’t force myself to avoid social media completely but I have trained myself not to let it control me. In the end, it is all about balance and I choose to give my mind more to the things that will truly shape my tomorrow.
Thank You

Forcing myself to avoid social media is not a good option but doing it with my own will would be the best option. I get your points! 🌷
