Mindful And Focused: Techniques For Minimizing Distractions

The distractions must come, they are always there but somehow a few have figured out a way to stay focused even in the most noisy and distracted places. I think that's a skill on it's own but most importantly, I think it's a skill everyone who has a plan or a goal should and must have.

In every phase of our lives, we are faced with distractions of different kinds. I remember my greatest distraction in my childhood was my mates playing and I had to study, even though I did had my own time to play. I always felt I was left out when I'm studying and they were playing.

Growing up, studying in the University, I was faced with another kind of distraction and they were obviously not the good kind. I was definitely going to fail in my studies if I had fallen for the tricks of those distractions. Thankfully, I got past those phase unscathed and I realized something.

I may not have the best technique to be mindful or stay focused in the midst of distraction but my life up till now, I've been doing quite well to get rid of the distractions I can get rid of. It's one of the techniques that have worked for me over time. Finding out what's a distraction and get rid of it.

Interestingly, a lot of these distractions are attractive, enticing or fun to get involved with. They tempt me to leave whatever I'm doing that I know deep down is the right path for me and I find myself struggling to keep at it until I get rid of whatever distraction is tempting me at a time.

Another interesting thing I've learned is that, some distractions are the ones you need to figure out what you're focused on. A little distraction from your focus can help a lot in your plans, although there are a lot of exceptions to this. I say this from experience in giving in sometimes.

Some hours ago, I watched a whole video that is reminding me to have a good connection with my spirit and I'll win a lot of situations than I do now. One of the hacks to staying focused in a world full of distractions is knowing yourself and be spirit filled, try to connect and listen to yourself.

Having clear goals and knowing what you need to do or what needs to be done is also a way to stay focused. When you're not sure of what it is you need to achieve, distractions happen easily and you get carried away. Until you are sure, you can not be well focused where there are distractions.

Right now, I'm on a self discovery on better ways to stay focused and I think I know them already. I just need to apply them as I forge ahead with my goals for the rest of my life. It's never an easy road to stay focused where there are distractions but it's always worth it if we achieve our goals.
