From Sweat To Serenity: My Summer Self-Care Routine

I love rainy season so much for the cold it comes with, no wonder I'm born in a month that begins the season (July) here in my country, I guess. But it doesn't mean I don't find ways to keep cool in the summer (hot) season, I mean God is the maker of all seasons and there are reasons for it.

The summer (hot) season is one of the most draining season for me, I believe it's same for others. Only few can withstand the energy that goes off our system when we feel so much heat without replenishing ourselves so finding ways to keep active in a summer time is one of my goals.

I think most of what I know to keep cool or cope with the heat, I learnt from my mum because she's one who dislikes to feel hot and would even prefer to sleep on ice if it were possible lol. I've learned really cool hacks to keep the heat in good control and I'll share the most important ones.

The summer (hot) season comes with heat from the sun, dust from the ground and energy draining so one of the most important things I do is, Keeping hydrated most of the time. For days I'll be out of the house, I take hydrating more seriously and this keeps my energy not drained.

If I must go out and not so somewhere very important, I wear light clothes. I can't even imagine covering my whole body with thick wears when it's hot outside but I still maintain decency while I'm at it. There are light wears that works perfectly for the hot season, I use those.

Taking cool bath as often as possible is another hack for me, this keeps my body clean, cool and refreshed for the day and keeps me away from sweating too much. I don't like to use my body oil during hot season as much as I do in cold seasons. It's all about creating a good balance.

To keep the dusts and hot sun away, I wear glasses outside and make use of handkerchief very often. I'm not good with nose masks if not, it works perfectly for this purpose too. Covering my nostrils and eyes keep the dusts away and I don't feel headache after being under the sun for long.

I know others are like me wishing we don't have to be out during the summer season but it's not possible so finding ways to actually utilise the season for our benefits is a better way out. Vitamin D is an important benefit we get from the sun and we get to have the sun more in summer.

Keeping the home in good spacing, going about in lighter wears, having less stressful hairstyles, staying hydrated, taking cool baths, doing less strenuous work and resting more during summer works best for me and I get to enjoy the season more that way. I hope you learn some hacks too.

Hydrating is the only way to survive hot season because everywhere gets so dry and it's difficult to cope without water.
