Today we went for another battle in Splinterlands. This time, we had to fight Gertrude Chompsbury, and to be honest, she looked quite dangerous to me. You can see her in the screenshot below, and she clearly says that she fights like victory is the only thing keeping her upright. From that statement alone, I could tell she was ruthless, and I felt this was going to be a tough battle.
But as soon as I clicked on the Enter Arena button, something unexpected happened. An animation story began, and suddenly a troll monster appeared. That hungry troll monster attacked Gertrude Chompsbury, and now it was my turn to fight this new enemy.
I honestly did not know what was going to happen next, but one thing was clear, my opponent was no longer Gertrude Chompsbury, but this monster. The battle had taken a sudden twist, and I was both nervous and excited to see how it would unfold.
In the screenshot below, you can see all the Archons from which I had to select one. Our professor had already told us that this monster we are about to fight has low speed. I remembered one of our earlier lessons on the importance of card speed, and I realized that if I selected cards with higher speed, I might be able to defeat this monster more easily.
So, I decided to go with Barthalamas for this battle, since he provides +1 speed to all the monsters I choose. With that advantage, I built my lineup. In the screenshot below, you can clearly see my cards, all equipped with the plus one speed ability. That was the lineup I chose to take into battle.
On the other side, the hungry troll monster stood alone, but with an incredible 40 health. Not only that, but it also had a melee attack of 8. This made the fight look quite challenging, because even though the monster was slow, its strength and health were extremely high.
Above you can see that we were able to win the battle with the speed strategy, +1 speed helped us a lot.
After the battle our professors praised us, I am happy.
The reward for this battle can be seen below, we won the card named little sister with magic +1 attack and also an ability about which we are going to learn in a upcoming battle when I actually use this card.
Now we are left with one last final battle as you can see in the screenshot below. We are going to complete that very soon.
