The Forge.

One thing I've come to understand is the fact that movies go beyond just passing time. Some people somewhere actually took their time to act out, to inspire, to touch on everyday happenings and bring things to light and a lot more. There are times we watch certain movies and believe me, and believe me they seem to know the right time to come, they come hitting us at our core, fitting perfectly into that which we need as at that time.

I have a movie like that, I've watched several movies before and after it, but still it happens to stand out. Anytime I think about the movies I've watched, it still comes back to me, it happens to be one of the few movies that I can remember very well from it's beginning to the end. The title of that movie is, "The Forge." It's a faith based movie, let's call it a Christian movie. I've watched other movies from its producers, "The Kendrick Brothers," I've watched the likes of Overcomer, War Room and the likes.

And based on their earlier movies, I know that will be massive as well, even though I really do not know what to expect before watching it. But I'm glad I took my time too, it came at the right time. And I can't deny that it still remains my absolute favorite.

The forge tells the story of a man named Isaiah. Isaiah faced a lot, everything he tries seems to not be working, I ant even say he's at a crossroads as all roads seems to be blocked for him. He's like what we were taught back then in school, "has magnitude but no direction." Or maybe he's even worse, he has no magnitude neither does he has a direction. Meaning, he has no purpose. And that really hit me as my core, I really do not really know what my purpose was as well, trying this and that, venturing into this and that, that has been it for me.

What made me love the movie more was the fact that, it showed real life struggles, it showed everyday disappointments, it should our everyday mistakes, it should real life. Those were all the things Isaiah had to face, see and experience, but along the line, help came for him, people helped him, guided him, prayed for him and all. And that made me see and know that everything we all are passing through is preparing us for something bigger and stronger, it made me understand that those are phases to go through in order to be forged like a iron in fire into something worth it.

The people in his life who helped him, who encouraged him, who prayed for him and all reminded me of the various people in my life as well, who had stood by me and stand by me when even I do not know what next to do, it reminded me how important it is to have good people around one. I won't stop saying the one thing that made me love the movie, it's "the realness," it wasn't over acted, it wasn't exaggerated. It is a movie that will compel one to think about his/her journey and question oneself. That movie encourages me to not give up, to keep going and to keep fighting for what I really want.

Some months back, I wrote about it as well, here. And the fact that I still haven't gotten over the movie shows how powerful of a movie it is. It helped me to see life differently, it encouraged and inspire me. And it reminded me that whatever I'm facing is just for a time, it will pass, it's just necessary for me to pass through it, as iron would pass through fire, and in the end become stronger and beautiful.
