Hello everyone,
Based on this week's contest prompt; jealousy in relationships can come from love, fear ,or insecurity.

Some people do say that "if you partner isn't jealous, then they don't love you.
Well, I can't agree more or less with the expression.
A little jealousy is healthy in a relationship; unless you are not emotionally invested in the relationship.
I do get jealous, and I believe every human do get jealous too, though they might not show it.
I might become uncomfortable if my partner is overly close or flirting with the opposite gender. Of course, this is one of the reasons most people get jealous. I can choose to communicate and it or ignore. I believe in setting boundaries when in a relationship with another person.
I don't have the right to restrict him from talking to people. The later is controlling.
When a partner starts questioning every of your movements, every calls that comes to your phone, monitors your chats, tells you who to communicate with and who you should not communicate with.
Then the jealousy is no more born out of love but insecurity and fear.. jealousy; if not put into check can become unhealthy in a relationship. It can even result to death.
Some times ago, someone strangled his partner to death because she did not post him on social media on his birthday.
To him, he thought that the lady was cheating on him.
And just yesterday, I read in the news that, someone strangled his girlfriend to death, just because of a phone call.
And these many happenings are the reasons being overly jealous is unhealthy in a relationship.

I believe that trust should be stronger than fear of losing a partner. I don't have to constantly monitor my partner to keep him faithful.
So what am I saying in essence?
A little jealousy can be healthy in a relationship, at least, to show that someone matters to you. But it should not start taking away people's freedom, privacy, friendships, and peace.
You can actually love someone and still give them freedom.
Yes! You can love someone without turning them into properties that should be owned by you alone.
