THAT FIRST PAY

Looking back it is somehow fascinating how far I have come, I must admit it hasn’t been easy. The journey from my very first paycheck up until now has been everything but straight. Funny enough I lost the money just as soon as I made it because I was more or less a rich fool. It was a lot of money, but I was young and inexperienced and believed nearly everything I saw online. The knowledge of fraud wasn’t as widespread as it is now which was the major reason I lost my very first paycheck before I really got to use it. I can still remember the feeling, the chills and all the emotions that went through me then, plus the devastation afterwards.

I wanted to do something after the videography training I received after secondary school, and I started searching facebook where I saw someone teaching about digital marketing. That was around 2015 there about, oh wow it’s already over 10 years lol. I decided to use my allowance for the week to register for the course and when I did I was really inspired by the things I learned. He also gave us (the students) a really nice product to market and that product made me my first $1,000 and the first money I ever made before it went out of stock. I was about 16/17 years old then and I was so happy to be making such an amount of money at such a young age.

With no idea of what to do, I gave my mum some money to cook, she was so proud of me because it was the first time her son was giving her money and not the other way round. With no plans for the money I saw another post on facebook that promised to multiply my money and I put in almost everything I had because I wanted more. The pain of realizing all my money was gone was worse than any heartbreak I have experienced till now, but it taught me a valuable lesson not to be too trusting of things I have not verified and money does not multiply the way I thought lol. At least I now know and I am more careful.
