The Argument That Finally Made Me Listen

For a long time, I told anyone who mentioned Hive the same thing: it does not look real at first, because you know that thing they always say about too good to be true. Over the years, I have read and come across some other platforms that promised to pay, but at the end of the day, they delivered nothing. Though I was not that interested at first, over time, I had a change of mind, and it was not the earning aspect.

Though I have been here since around 2018 or so, and before I started Hive last year, I went back to check my old posts, and they were still there. Nothing has been changed. Exactly how I left it, still sitting well on the blockchain. My comments are still there, people I have been following, and my write-ups; nothing was edited, and no one has deleted my post. And the platform is still standing with everything I have created in it. It's just permanent, existing the way some couple of things in this life do.

And this is what I will tell anyone that I want to onboard. I will not tell them about the money, not even the votes. I will only throw a very simple question to them, and it will be, How many things have you built online that you actually own?.

Because I have seen people create content online, and at the end of the day, that content was deleted or removed without explanation, or even those platforms were banned or no longer maintained. And for those people, it was as if they were writing by the side of the beach, knowing that it could be washed away anytime soon.

I have seen Hive to be different from others because whatever I do on here persists in a way that other social media doesn't promise and might never deliver. The HBD/Hive that I earn here is so real and important, especially from a country like mine, where it is always good to have extra income.

But what I will lead and move with is ownership. Because when I discovered and understood that my voice can live somewhere that not just anyone can control, things have changed because the rest of my activities here always take care of themselves.
