Today I had a demo from one of the project managers. The demo was not about what they did with AI it was a casual discussion about the outstanding user stories and the effor required. But the project manager displayed a dashboard that had all the information and stats that would be required for the demo. The entire theme of the meeting changed from project update to understanding how this project manager created the dashboard and how useful it was.
Mostly everyone have enough AI tools in hand these days and they are free to build whatever they want. Some people are curious to do something like that and others just go with the flow. These curious people are the ones who build amazing things like this. Everyone started asking about the application during the meeting. The project manager has used GitHub Copilot to create the dashboard. It was nothing but the representation of data from Jira. With the help of MCP, Jira was linked and the data was brought from Jira.

Everyday becomes a learning and when a project manager who had absolute zero coding knowledge can build something amazing like that just to ease their own job, imagine what a developer who has the full coding skills can do. I would say that the application may not be production ready or it may not be perfect. But it is reducing the burden of the project manager and it gives a great visual representation of the data which is what is important here. The project manager said that she was not going to give it to anyone else and she is just going to use it in her own laptop.
After all these things a suggestion was thrown saying that the application should be converted to a docker image and shared with the team so that even others who are doing similar tasks with Jira can benefit from that.
I also think that this is how the modern application would keep going. There will be no need to learn coding and just prompting would be sufficient with a few skill sets. Even for the other tasks , the AI itself will be able to guide us. So any non technical people have the power to build anything with these tools that can convert the idea into reality.
If you like what I'm doing on Hive, you can vote me as a witness with the links below.
I believe that AI empowers everyone to create an app without the technical and coding knowledge that would require. One would still need to have some basic tech knowhow, but not low level and rather broader understanding.
My latest tweak with AI is to improve a Performance Test script about ten fold (x10) with just few lines of code optimized. That's quite impressive.
