Preparing for the Summer Heat
Weather is getting hotter and hotter day by day. This year we had a very long winter in Chennai. I have spoken to some of my friends across the world and everyone mostly expressed that the weather was a bit different than usual this year. Some places suffered extreme weathers this year which is a bit odd.
We are already away from the Winter season and we have been having a lot of Sun in the last one month but in some places we still feel cold at night and in the morning time. Some places are also seeing some dew drops in the morning time.
I'm a bit worried about the summer time this year because considering the fact that rain was also very low this year, there is a high chance that we will be experiencing extreme heat this summer. Preparing for the summer is something that we have to do and below are few things that I think we should be doing to keep ourselves safe in the summer season.
Staying hydrated
This is a very common thing. I guess having enough water in the body will help in regulating the heat. Taking more fluids will help us out in this aspect.
Go out only when it is extremely needed
Right now the heat is manageable but as the summer gets extreme it can become hard to takle the heat. It is better to avoid going out in the got sun or doing activities in the hot sun if it is not necessary.
Reduce eating spicy food
We will be able to see heat already in the body and if we eat more spicy food, it can be hard for some people to tackle both. Avoiding heavy spicy food can be helpful.
Kids should stay safe
Summer holidays are very common and schools give holidays because the kids should be safe at home and shouldn't get exposed to too much of heat but sometimes kids play in the hot sun and get exposed to heat and this should be protected.
Feed other living beings
As humans we have a facility to look for water reserves and keep out body cool. It can be hard for other living being to find food during the peak summer season. Some living beings may not be able to even find water. It will be a good thing to feed the birds and animals if possible or at the most keep water for the birds in our balcony or terrace area.
