Building a software is not a big thing these days. Coding the best solution with best practices is a challenging thing. Nothing has changed much in the software industry. The architecture part and reviewing part still remains the same but coding part also has become faster. Instead of having multiple in experienced developers in the team and getting the coding done, it is not possible to code the entire product with AI agents. So the need for new developers in the team has reduced but we will still need someone to architecture the product and review the architecture and review the code. A cannot replace that ever 100 percent.

Along with this security also plays a very important role. People think that AI is good in building the secure product as well but it is all in the prompting that we do. But it is not fully true. AI cannot build a 100 percent secure product by itself. For any activity, AI can be a great aid but it cannot take complete ownership. Testing is another area where AI can be of great help of it cannot do it by itself and we have to rely on some manual testers to be sure about the quality of the product.

Today most of the investment by the companies goes on AI tools and services for security and many areas. People also build in house AI tools that scan through the codebase regularly and suggest code improvements and also give the findings. Many companies have now become a security first companies that focus on shipping more secure code. This has now become a possibility with the help of AI and AI tools. Since AI has also improved a lot, the security should also be very tight so that it cannot be penetrated that easily. Many companies that are running a 20 year old code is having so many critical items that needs fixing for the new AI era. So this is where more of the investments are going for many companies.
