Ants continuously targetting my laptop keyboard material

I'm not sure how many people know this but ants like the silicon/rubber material below the keyboard buttons. I didn't know about this earlier. My HP Omen laptop had this problem. One fine morning I saw a lot of ants going out from my laptop keyboard. I didn't know that it can be a problem. After a few days my keyboard started malfunctioning. Even then I didn't know that ants were the problem.

I happened to change my laptop keyboard from a shop and the shop person mention that we have to protect the laptop keyboard from ants. They really like the bottom portion of the key. It is made of a composition that is attractive and tasty for ants. This happened to me twice and now I have changed my laptop keyboard twice.

Ants are not targetting my other laptop now. I take all the precautions to keep my laptop away from ants but somehow they find it and they keep coming back again and again. Also, they are now after my laptop charger. I see about 10 to 20 ants coming out of my laptop charger. I have taken many precautions but in spite of that they keep coming back. I'm still looking for a permanent solution so that I don't have to spend money again on my laptop keyboard. I replaced it twice already.

I wanted to write this article and give a heads up to people who don't know about this. Today I was taking to my IT engineer in the office and he did not have any idea bout this. He did not believe that this is a possibility. Later I explained what happened to my laptops and how it was hard to send them away. So it is common that many people don't know about this and only when it happens for them they get to know about this.
