POWERUP OR CASH OUT- 80/20 HP MY OWN STRATEGY
When I joined hive my local guide made me to know little things I need to know about hive and as i progressed and journey here, i have come to know and learn more about hive; benefits of powering up, the reward, curation and other things, even though am still learning everyday because hive is like a school of education. Learning never stops except you quite learning. So this week's contest topic has always been in front of me daily, if i should just power up all my liquid hive or if I should split it into two, Power up some and keep some for liquid hive and Hbd or cash it out for an exchange. After thinking and digesting on it, i have come to do it this way and here is my reason.
My strategy is to split it 80/20, that's to say i will Power up 80% and keep 20% as HBD, this is not constant because I might change the equation based on if I earn more or if I earn low. That is to say when I have reached my optimal level, i might decides to split it 50/50 inorder to enjoy my rewards more and when the journey is going bad i might go as far as 99/1 to adjust.
I have come to know in my 7months experience here on Hive Blockchain, that the more you Power up the more one get influential on the platform, the quality of your power up also determines the weight of your upvote and also your curation rewards. Powering up and having a quality HP will also attract and make big curators to notice me even more and some communities as well. Also powering up will remains me that am not quitting hive any time soon and that i pin here no leave no transfer. Poweing up helps to builds my account, so if i have a good quality account it will pay continually and if I Power up constantly for aleast 3 years and not for once powered down, will it worth the time spent to build it? After all I have to put more effort to workhard, post and engage inorder to build and grow my hive, even though now value of hive is discouraging.
Am I going to cash out? Yes I will cash out, like as I said earlier i will keep 20% as HBD and that I won't just power up all my reward to HP but keep some of rewards to be HBD should incase I have some personal needs, i will cash it out and I from there sort out my problem. My data subscription will always come from my hbd so that can keep running and creating because data is not free here in Nigeria. If I don't work, i will earn nothing. My aim it's to build my hive and use it settle things when life happens.
I have come to know that cashing out will feed me today but powering up will rather feeds me for years, but while doing so i don't I need to be hungry and not satisfy my personal needs as I achieve that.
