Jealousy As Salt In A Meal For Relationships

Love is a natural feeling that comes with care and affection between two or more people either it is romantic or not but when love turns out to have a bit or lots of jealousy included, can we still count it as a real genuine love or it's no longer healthy anymore?

A proverb from my tribe people says that "a woman who does not get jealous, the soup made by her won't be delicious" and no matter how this proverb may sound funny, there's something to hold onto from it.
Writing on this topic will make me pin my perspective on the aspect of a romantic relationship.
Being jealous in a relation can be good and can as well be bad but the good or bad has to do with the level of the jealousy.

You can't love someone and want them to be taken away by another person but you would want to protect them or prevent your relationship with them from getting shattered in case the other person is beginning to get his or her attention with their good attitude which you probably don't have or doing the things you don't do. This can be referred to as a good jealousy needed in a relationship as long as partners love themselves genuinely.

However, it becomes bad, unhealthy and uncalled for when the jealousy grows into a level where you suspect or question every move of your spouse and also want to swipe out everyone from your spouse's life as long as they're opposite gender because they are probably having intimacy in a romantic way. This is no longer a health jealousy but harmful and a bitter truth of having insecurity. Love and relationship is a simple arithmetic. You can't love a person and not trust them because love alone won't make it work out.

I was once in a relationship like that where I could not make male friends, going out anywhere calls for interrogation and gets questioned. Initially I thought it was a show of love and fear of not losing me which I counted as a bit of jealousy until it became an XXXL garment size worn on the issue with free space to breathe problem.

A bit of jealousy can spice up a relationship and I think it kind of make partners feel special when they receive that attention and fear of not losing them by their partners and that's only when it's a healthy jealousy but once it becomes too much, it should no longer be referred to as healthy but an act of insecurity against the partners.

In summary, jealousy in a relationship is like salt in a meal. As long as you take it, you must add it to your meal cos it's important and it can as well spoil your meal when it's too much so the ability to know the limit and when it began cause king issues between couples shows a start to an unhealthy jealousy turning insecurity.
