Is There No One?

How do to keep on hoping when all hope seemed to be a lie?

Of a failed state ...

Of failed nation...

They say the youths should stand up for their right and take back their country from the hands of the greedy cabals who take turns to rule the country.

Once they stood up for their right and challenged the government but it led to the lekki toll gate massacre.

Blood of innocent youths still cries for justice but none was given.

Is there no one who sees this?.

Is there no one to help us?.

Is there no one to stop the pain?.

Again they came out in masses on 25th February 2023 to cast out the wicked cables with their votes.

But there was no democracy even in a democratic nation.

They used hunger and poverty to control the minds of the people and the people begged for the crumbs which they threw at them.

In one city they used thugs to cause mayhem and in another they use corrupt policemen to do their biddings.

My eyes aches when i saw little children being used to rig the election to their favour. They scrambled for the peanuts they threw at them in exchange for their future.

They bragged on how the country was their's to do as they want and without any fear they chant ;

It is my turn to rule.

Is there no one who sees this?

Is there no one to help us?

Is there no one to stop the pain?

Everybody listens to the lies and manipulated numbers. The youths are angry, the children are no longer the leaders of tomorrow. The cables have held the leadership for years.

The forged numbers are being called.
The blood spilled are wailing.
The land is weeping.
The cabals are smiling.

The land is ours, it's our turn to rule

But still...

We hold our hands together and hope for a better tomorrow.
