The Future of Rising Star
It may seem like not much is happening at the moment but believe me we are working away and also waiting for some time to pass. Why?
STARPRO Supply and Demand
We introduced STARPRO as a fixed supply token to combat the issue of STARBITS inflation. Over time we have added more and more use cases for STARPRO.
As you can see from the price chart above this has caused a steady rise in the price. Slow and steady is what you want, not "boom and bust" like many cryptos!
We continue to add more uses for STARPRO without increasing the supply. Recently we decided to only list boosters and other cards required to progress for STARPRO only. We are working on something else that will increase the demand even more.
Music Promoter
This is the ONLY WAY to mint NEW STARPRO!
There is a threshold at which it becomes more profitable to use Music Promoter than buy from the market (as it is now). In theory this puts a floor on the STARBITS price regardless of the inflation. There are no guarantees of course but we hope this is the case. We get closer to this threshold every day and if we had not seen such a dramatic fall in crypto prices we would already be way above that threshold.
We get a lot of people telling us that we need to reduce the STARBITS rewards and increase the pack prices. I'm sorry but I do not believe this will solve anything. In fact this will make the game less attractive for new players and that is not what we want.
I am 100% committed to our solution of using STARPRO as outlined above. Could I be wrong? Sure! But I think it has a better chance of working in the long run than anything else I have seen suggested or we can think of.
Raves
These are being tested by players all the time and we are almost finished on the coding side (just the final reward calculations to completed and some improvement to the 'look and feel').
However we are not in a rush to put this live because we have been building the reward pool in such a way that it will be sustainable. As soon as we go live the reward pool will not grow as quickly as we will be paying out SWAP.HIVE to Rave participants. The longer we wait the larger the initial reward pool will be.
Player Numbers Decreasing
It is understandable that we are losing players at the moment as the HIVE price has been trending down and touched 25 cents just a week or so ago. I know I always say it is only a game and you should only play it if you enjoy it but a lot of people (understandably) are only interested in making money from it and everyone has a point where they are just not making enough to make it worth their while. We are hopeful that as the crypto markets recover and also with the launch of Raves that people will return but even if we end up with 1000 players we will continue to work on new features as we love doing so and we love the community!
A Lesson Learned
The main thing this bear market has taught us is that Rising Star needs to be self sustainable and not reliant on an ever increasing number of players.
Thankfully we have been able to achieve this by investing some of the profits from the first two years into various schemes that provide a regular income to cover our costs and provide slowly increasing rewards for Raves and other features we may bring out in the future (thank you HIVE witnesses for the 20% on HBD savings!).

This is a huge thing! And I think that it's possible to achieve this as Rising Star has some external revenues which are crucial for (slow) growth... Many games are based on hype, but I like the slow and steady approach as usually, it lasts longer... :)

Nice update, @risingstargame! I enjoy playing the game because it is pretty easy to get my head around and I was able to start for free. It also doesn't hurt that I am making some passive crypto. Yeah, it's not very much yet. But when I consider the amount of time that I am actually putting in, it is just fine for me. I am hoping it will continue to grow and I believe that the actions you are taking will move that along.

As someone has also said that Rising Star has become part of our lives, I would like to say, part of our daily lives and day seems incomplete without playing it.

What about the milionarie card for other players? It's not really fair some have it and some can't anymore
Actually it has been shown by many players that you can earn more by spending a million STARBITS on cards and then running missions than you can if you were just running the Millionaire mission and with STARBITS being a lot cheaper than they were you are getting those cards for less than the current millionaires paid for their STARBITS.

Good to hear that progress is ongoing.
I play from time to time but find the UI a bit random and hard to use. I would love to see an upgraded version with a smooth game design and lite accounts for new users to join hive through the game.
That's my biggest issue with playing as the game itself is simple but fun. I've never even cashed out a single star bit since I don't play it to earn. Just to progress.
Keep up the good work and hope to see lots more developments in the next couple of years. 👍

I'm very fond of Rising Star, it has gotten me out of some financial and health problems when still had Hive at a higher price.
Those problems meant losing part of my collection but we still continue with the goal of rocking until become a big star, long live Rising Star.

That's the way! The best way to start any business on HIVE in my opinion, and also one important "feature" this blockchain allows things to flourish in almost any market conditions. Slow and low can be very important for the growth and stability of the long-term market (especially in a bear market), and then when it pushes, everyone is going to be happy.

I believe that rising star has everything to grow in this year of 2023 regardless of whether there are few or many players. I love this game so much and since the day I saw it, I never lost the will to play, always trying to test something new or a new strategy.

Keep up the good work. Getting all this financial stuff right has to be hard. The hardcore players will keep going regardless of the price. Some of us just want all the cards, but I can appreciate some want to earn from games. At least $HIVE is gradually going up so other tokens may follow.

I love reading so much good news, personally, I have been enjoying the game a lot, it is my favorite and I have always thought that its current situation is very much influenced by the bear market and that at any moment it rises like the star it is, I think that all this time down, it has been perfect to grow our account. With an honest team working for the game, in the long run it will only end in success.

Good thing that you can cover the costs using the profit from other Hive Ecosystems. That's the beauty of Hive Blockchain. If I talk about the future, do you have a plan of burning Starbits to reduce its supply?
Music Promoter should burn more and more STARBITS as the supply starts to run out. It is the only way to mint new STARPRO so people should fight to get their share.

We have always said that we want anyone to be able to play even if they don't have a single HIVE to spend so it's important that we try to make the rewards fair for everyone.
I wasn't aware about the Raves, how it will work? adding STARPRO for the pool ?

I love the slow and steady model. This is a game that is accessible to anyone, can be started truly for free, and has a positive vibe. I am sure the millionaire changes caused some folks to withdraw, but RS is active and visible on Hive as far as I can see, and I am sure that as Hive becomes more attractive the engaged RS players will grow at a reasonable pace.
It is too bad that RS isn't necessarily pulling new people into Hive (if I read between the lines on the relationship between Hive prices and active RS players). I think it is just a matter of time before people become more comfortable with all the arcane things needed to get going on any decentralized crypto platform, so hopefully this bear market makes us all stronger

That is really excellent news! It seemed to me like it should, but I was extrapolating in error from the mention of declining users in the context of falling Hive prices.
I also want to add that keeping an eye out to preserve the fun and appeal of the game for new users is so key! That's the main problem with Splinterlands imho

Awesome update - reassuring and solid. I'm not going anywhere and I don't think most of the players are either. And when the markets do pick up I think RS could add A LOT more players. (if you can handle it!)
