When it is about a city of the 21st century, and if the city is a megacity like Beijing with the all modern facilities and sky-touching buildings, then it is really not imaginable that the city will also have an enriched agricultural hub. But Beijing is completely opposite if I compare with my home country's largest city Dhaka where we can't think about enough forest land and for agricultural land, that is a like a dream. But Beijing has huge space out of it's core central area and it has tremendous amount of forest land that you can imagine. Just I want to mention the recent updates last year in the following news from CGTN. Besides it has a lot of agricultural lands in the northern section where I live.
Beijing made strides in ecological progress in 2023, raising the city's forest coverage rate to 44.9 percent, said Beijing Mayor Yin Yong when delivering a government work report at the annual session of Beijing's legislative meeting on Sunday. The Chinese capital planted 15,000 mu (1,000 hectares) of trees in 2023. Thanks to the city's greening efforts, its forest coverage rate has increased from 38.6 percent in 2012 to the current 44.9 percent, awarding Beijing the "National Forest City" title.Last year, 60 newly added parks, including 10 suburban parks, 50 pocket parks, and small-sized green spaces, opened to the public, bringing the total number of parks in the city to 1,065.

As you can see that 45% of the total area is covered with the green lands where 22% is wild forest and other half is the artificially created forest and so you can find so many parks and forest land everywhere in the whole city. When I visit in the northern section of the city I found thousands of acres of fruits garden and a good portion is also with agricultural lands which is less compared to the fruits garden in this area.
If I am not wrong, in my observation, most of the fruits garden are the apples, apricots, oranges, grapes and many others that I don't know exactly. Among the most common crops I found the maize and the wheat as the mostly common and some areas I found many other vegetables crops and many winter crops that grows well in this region of the world. But it is a miracle that such huge city with no rivers is so green and it is a challenging thing to grow trees here and I found they have an excellent irrigation system for their green forest lands and the authority provide huge labor to these area which I can not imagine for the pure water supply in Dhaka City for the common people but Beijing is doing it for their trees!
I hope you like my photos of the beautiful natural scenic views in the agricultural area of the Huairou city I have visited in the last weekend at this summer time of the this year. The weather was so comfortable and the excellent air quality with colder temperature due to cloudy sky was also enjoyable, making it a great time to explore nature as my outdoor activity. If you have any queries, let me know in the comments, and I will try my best to answer them as much as I can afford.
Thanks a lot for your time and attention. I will catch up with you at the next one.
Wishing you a good day!
I took all the photos, and these are my own property.
Dear @tanzil2024 !
Hassan!
I am surprised that there are no rivers in the agricultural area of Huairou city!
I guess they use underground water channels to supply agricultural water to the agricultural area of the Huairou city!
Bangladesh has many rivers and wetlands, so it seems like it will be easy to obtain water for agricultural purposes.
Yeah, Bangladesh has so many rivers for that.
