A Morning Surprise!

Nature is incredible, and has a way of throwing up surprises that adds color to your day!

While preparing breakfast today, I looked out my kitchen window to see this rare sight: the sun rising beside a faint moon. At first, I wasn't sure of what I saw, and was a bit thrown off. Could my eyes be playing tricks on me? It was 07:38 AM WAT, and I was up and about. Lol. So I looked again to be sure I wasn't seeing double, and there they were - the moon and sun sharing the morning sky!

Excited, I grabbed my phone, ran outside, to the backyard to have a better view and also capture the moment.

After taking a couple of shots, I stepped back inside. Lo and behold, the moon didn't show up in the photo. "Wait, what just happened?" I asked no one but me. But I saw the moon beside the sun, with my own eyes!

I'm guessing the reason the moon wasn't visible in the photo could be that it was too faint against the bright sky. That's it; the sunlight overshadowed it.

Another thing, the limitations of my phone camera. I'm sure if I had used a phone with a good camera or better still, a camera itself, I wouldn't have missed the moon.

Well, whether it's a trick of the light or my phone camera or even the Lunar conjunction, it was a beautiful surprise to start the day. At least, I captured the sunrise, so it wasn't a futile effort to start with.

I hope you like the pictures I've shared with you. Have you ever had a moment like this before? Or you're familiar with anything like this? I'm eager to read your response. 😍

Have a fabulous day!

I can relate sis. I've heard similar experience but unfortunately that very day my phone's battery was flat, so I couldn't capture it. But I was lost in the wonders of such nature's view and at the same time, angry because I couldn't capture it.

It's quite unfortunate that your phone played a fast one on you. Though the one you captured is beautiful too.

Never knew this was possible. Even though you couldn't capture exactly what you saw, the effect up there is still a lovely sight. Thanks for sharing.
