Finally we say our goodbyes to Sitka and head out of a civilized area and get to enjoy the peace and Alaskan Wilderness. All to ourselves...
It took us about 11 hours to reach Cat's Head Cove from Sitka and as seen in the image above it was already getting dark.
Now, l'm not completely sure if this looks like a Cat's Head, but it seems similar - l just can't make it out... Let me know if you can, down in the comments!
Instead of staying in our boat we decided to take out the dingy and take a look at the south Anchorage since we didn't anchor there and at the same time enjoy the sunset
Now this makes more sense to me, this actually does look like a cat's tail.
After checking out Cat's Tail Cove we wanted to go out and see if we could see any whales - because when we came in we saw a whale or Orca and we were happy that we anchored in the north as there were way too many mosquitos in the South anchorage.
As seen in the image above, you can clearly tell how this anchorage is protected from the swell. Even with our small dingy we could get out in the waves.
We climbed a huge bolder and got the best view for the sunset, and as we guessed there was a whale feeding - coming up every now and then to catch his breath.

Just to the left of this image was a whale but it was too dark to capture with a phone camera.
Now that l have been writing this blog l really regret taking a drone picture from 500 meter because l'm sure if l did do that l'd recognize the cat, but l geuss l'll do that when l came back in the future!
l will definitely never forget this Anchorage, have a wonderful start of the week, and stay safe!
Until next time,
Kon
Kon

Looks spectacular! Reminds me of vacations I have taken in Canada.
That's wonderful because my next blogs will be about Canada;) Stay tuned!
Sounds amazing that you have this awesome place all to yourselves! 😍 Looks so calm and serene. I imagine how refreshing it would be to get away from the city. 😆 I'm not sure I see the cat's head.. but maybe a little? 😁 What lovely views all around there. Happy midweek!

Stunning view everywhere. It's really like a cat's tail.
Wow! The view is breathtaking, capturing the sun almost complimenting the clouds and having its reflections on the waters is really captivatingly beautiful.
The sight is so catchy to the eyes, the vision is clear and calm to the eyes.
This is definitely a beautiful shot @konquest.
My warm regards 😊
