Good day, amazing people of Hive Blockchain. Welcome back to my blog. It is another edition in the #minimalist community topic: how do you embrace minimalism in the kitchen?
Embracing minimalism in our kitchen is all about using things that we use regularly; it is necessary for us to go for quantity and not quality.
Most times you don’t see the need for minimalism in our kitchen; we always think it is not necessary to minimalise our kitchen. The only thing that should be minimalism is our lifestyle. There is one place I love practising minimalism, and that is my kitchen. I so much love my kitchen being so simple. I see my kitchen was a sacred place, so I shouldn’t overcrowd it with things I am not using. I try my possible best to make sure my kitchen is simple. I don’t buy things for the kitchen because they are beautiful or for the future. I will go for things that I know I will use regularly in the kitchen.
Africans believe that a girl child owns the kitchen. I learn about minimalism from my mom every month. She will bring out everything in the kitchen; she will group the ones we often use and the ones we don’t use often. She will pack them in our store and gift the utensils that serve the same purpose out to our neighbours. Seeing my mom practice this, I have to learn it from her.
My kitchen is so small that practising minimalism is the only thing that will help to have space in my kitchen. I love my kitchen being simple. Embracing minimalist in my kitchen is something I love so much. The things in my kitchen are things I use regularly. I try my best to get the best for my kitchen. Of course, this is a place where I prepare my meals. As a foodie, I use my kitchen more often. I love cooking in a spacious kitchen. This is the main reason I practise minimalism; I don’t want to be in a situation where I will be preparing a meal and my legs will be hitting surfaces.
Even as simple as my kitchen may look, I still ask myself, When was the last time I used it? Do I still have need for it? If not, I will gift it to my neighbours. Most times my friends visit me, I will only have two plates, a cup, a fork and a spoon. This is how much I love a spacious kitchen. I don’t like a kitchen that is full of utensils. That is why I carefully arrange my plates in a basket so that my kitchen will look smart.
Since I discovered this, it has really helped me. Whenever I purchase a new kitchen gadget, I give out the old one that performs the same function. I don’t just buy things because they attract me; I always ask myself if I really need that.
Practising minimalism in a kitchen is about organising and prioritising only the necessary things. I don’t know if I am the only one that finds joy in a spacious kitchen; my secret to a delicious meal is a spacious kitchen. I believe you don’t need to overcrowd your kitchen with things for it to look beautiful, but a spacious kitchen will give you what you want.

I love tidy kitchen too , I put things I need closer , and put the one I don't use regularly at the back. I like how you give it out , it will be useful elsewhere too
