My 1st time singing solo and with the Sesc JF Choir ~ w/ video 🤩 [EN/PT]

Since February, I’ve embarked on a new musical journey: I started participating in the Sesc Choir. It’s been an intense few months, filled with learning, challenges, and incredible discoveries that have deepened my connection with music and with my own voice.

Yesterday, a very special moment finally arrived: my first performance with the choir — and also my first solo performance. I stepped onto the stage for the first time alongside this talented and welcoming group, sharing everything we’ve built together over this time.

The event’s theme was "The Golden Age of Brazilian Radio," celebrating national songs from the 1930s to the 1950s. I had the honor of performing, as a soloist, the song “Fascinação,” immortalized by Elis Regina, but with a new arrangement that brought a fresh touch to the performance. In addition, I sang three classics with the choir: “O Pato” by João Gilberto; “Isto Aqui, O Que É?” by Ary Barroso; and “Luar do Sertão” by Catulo da Paixão Cearense and João Pernambuco.

Interestingly, just days before the performance, I was sick, with an inflamed throat and a very fragile voice. I truly thought I wouldn’t make it, that perhaps it would be better to give up. But they didn’t let me. I received support, encouragement, and care from everyone who walked this path with me — my fellow choristers, the percussionists, and especially our incredible conductor, Nirlene.

She is the heart of this project — the one who inspires, guides, and keeps this group united, vibrant, and confident. She believed in my potential from the start, and thanks to that trust, today I also believe much more in my own voice.

I’m deeply grateful for all of this: for the strength I received, for the opportunity to be part of such a beautiful collective, and for the chance to live such a rich experience.

Desde fevereiro, embarquei em uma nova jornada musical: comecei a participar do Coral do Sesc. Foram meses intensos, de muito aprendizado, desafios e descobertas incríveis que ampliaram ainda mais minha relação com a música e com a minha própria voz.

Ontem, finalmente, chegou um momento muito especial: minha primeira apresentação com o coral e também solo. Subi ao palco pela primeira vez ao lado desse grupo tão talentoso e acolhedor, compartilhando tudo que construímos juntos ao longo desse tempo.

O sarau teve como tema "A Era de Ouro da Rádio Brasileira", celebrando músicas nacionais dos anos 1930 a 1950. Tive a honra de interpretar, em solo, a canção "Fascinação", eternizada por Elis Regina, mas com uma nova roupagem que trouxe um frescor à apresentação. Além disso, cantei com o coral três clássicos: "O Pato", de João Gilberto; "Isto Aqui, O Que É?", de Ary Barroso; e "Luar do Sertão", de Catulo da Paixão Cearense e João Pernambuco .

O curioso é que, dias antes da apresentação, estive doente, com a garganta inflamada e a voz bastante fragilizada. Cheguei a acreditar que não conseguiria, que talvez fosse melhor desistir. Mas não me deixaram. Recebi apoio, incentivo e acolhimento de todos que estiveram comigo nessa caminhada — os colegas coristas, os percussionistas e, principalmente, a nossa incrível regente, Nirlene.

Ela é a alma desse projeto, quem nos inspira, orienta e mantém esse grupo unido, vibrante e confiante. Foi ela quem acreditou no meu potencial desde o início e, graças a essa confiança, hoje também acredito muito mais na minha própria voz.

Sou muito grata por tudo isso. Pela força que recebi, pela oportunidade de fazer parte desse coletivo tão bonito e pela chance de viver essa experiência tão rica.
