This is a Silver Strike gold plated commemorative gaming token from the now defunct Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. These are silver tokens that could be won by playing the Silver Strike slot machines that used to be found in casinos around the world. They are now almost and extinct item themselves as very few casinos still have them. It makes these tokens all the more rare and valuable.
The Hard Rock Hotel and Casino celebrated rock n' roll artists throughout the hotel and casino. It was also a popular venue for many bands while on tour. Over the years many acts performed there including Bon Jovi, the Eagles, Nine Inch Nails, Judas Priest, No Doubt, Alice Cooper, and the list goes on and on. It was in operation since 1995, but nothing ever lasts forever in Las Vegas. Operations were ceased and the property permanently closed in 2020 after years of losses. The COVID outbreak didn't help things either, at any rate it's now part of rock n' roll history just like the token.
This felt like a great way to kick off a Three Tune Tuesday! But first off I want to say thank you to @ablaze for starting and continuing to sponsor this fun weekly event where you can share three songs that you enjoy. One lucky participant will win some HSBI units, you can't have too many of those! So if you don't already participate feel free to jump in, just use the tag #ttt or #threetunetuesday and it's never a bad idea to do a shoutout to @ablaze .
So today I decided to share some bands who have played the Hard Rock in the past!

Nine Inch Nails were among the many who played the Hard Rock Hotel, Las Vegas over the years. Trent Reznor, from Cleveland, Ohio, formed this band as a solo artist hiring a band for live performances. He has produced some amazing music over the years including this song off his debut album in 1989, "Head Like a Hole":

No Doubt also played in the Las Vegas Hard Rock Hotel. This Orange County band got their start in Anaheim, California not too far from where I live. They were mainly a ska band starting out and you can still hear that influence in their later music. Tragic Kingdom was released in 1995 making them one of the biggest bands in the world and set Gwen Stefani on an equally big solo career. In the early 2000's they released this song called "Bathwater":

Although she didn't perform at the venue in Vegas she did in their Florida venue. This Colombian native has been one of my favorite singer/songwriters for years since I first heard her music while living in the Caribbean. This past year she recorded some of her songs in an Anniversary Version that I first heard a couple weeks ago. She does an amazing job even today. This song is from the mid 2000's if I recall, and it's called "Día de Enero" (Day in January.)

I hope you enjoyed my selections for this Three Tune Tuesday. These are always a lot of fun to put together! Please feel free to leave any comments or questions below, and as always thank you for all of your support. I really is greatly appreciated. Have a great day everyone!
