A Rocking Halloween Three Tune Tuesday!

Halloween if finally upon us come Friday, so this will be the real Halloween edition of Three Tune Tuesday. It's always tough to choose three tunes as over the decades there have been so many great songs written for the holiday. Then there are those great movies from the horror franchises to the fun like "The Nightmare Before Christmas". I considered doing some more recent music from contemporary bands but sometimes the classics are the best...

Let's dive into some good old fashioned Halloween fun!

AC/DC

You can't do Halloween without some classic AC/DC and their Highway to Hell. This Australian band has been at it since 1973 and aren't showing any signs of slowing down quite yet. "Highway to Hell" was first released in 1979 before the death of singer Bon Scott, but Brian Johnson joined the band in 1980 taking the reigns and Back in Black was born. Here's "Highway to Hell" live from 2009.

Alice Cooper

This legendary singer can almost be crowned the King of Halloween. His stage act is as much a music show as it is a magic act and theater production. If you ever get the chance don't miss one of his shows, even in his 70's he puts on a great act! This is his classic song from the mid 1970's, but recorded live from 1989 in England. This is "Wecome to My Nightmare":

Ozzy Osbourne

The late music legend Ozzy Osbourne died earlier this year, but not before producing decades of great music. After being fired from Black Sabbath for excessive drug use, he kicked off a very successful solo career. In 1983 he released the album Bark at the Moon with the featured hit by the same name. It's a perfect fit for for Halloween as it's about a werewolf coming back from the dead to seek his revenge!

And a bonus, you can't do Halloween without this song!

Iron Maiden

Formed in 1975 in London, England this heavy metal band has become a fan favorite over the decades. Led by singer Bruce Dickinson, in 1982 they put out one of their biggest albums The Number of the Beast. The same year Michael Jackson had released Thriller, in Jackson's horror masterpiece legend Vincent Price was integral in the song. Iron Maiden wanted Price to narrate for them as well, but he wouldn't do it for less than 25,000 English Pounds. So they went with plan B, English actor Barry Clayton. At any rate, it's a nice spooky song and perfect for Halloween!
