Hello Hello to all you wonderful Hivians and music lovers
In keeping with finding something that piques my interest and has a music theme to it, this week for ttt it is a brilliant band The Undertones.
Which got me thinking that I have not played on threetunetuesday before.
I am sure some of you will recognise the first song if not the band!
Anyway back we go and I bring you the Northern Irish punk/ indie rock band The Undertones!
It is Tuesday and that of course means that it's #ttt or #threetunetuesday and so it's time to share some tunes with you!
As you know I love drawing in inspiration from many places for my three tune tuesday post.
@ablaze started #ttt 142 weeks ago! Go check out what it is all about on his latest post Thomas Chambers for Three Tune Tuesday - Week 142 - 11 HBI shares to be won!
Do go support @ablaze as without him we would not have this mental fun musical activity that you can win HSBI from! I am happy to be one of the ELEVEN sponsors and it is kinda fun checking out music from all over this global village of ours!
Today we are going back to Northern Ireland in the late 70s and early 80s.
The Undertones were formed in 1975 in Derry in Northern Ireland.
Probably their most famous was their first song released in 1976.
This is John Peel's favourite ever song... To many John Peel was one of the best ever old school DJs along with Annie Nightingale who passed away recently.
Actually there is a reason why we are listening to The Undertones apart from they are a band I like!
Beginning in February 1976 the group, at this stage still unnamed, began playing gigs at various minor local venues, including schools, parish halls and Scout huts.
Scout huts because their lead singer, Feargal Sharkey, was a local Scout leader.
It is because of Fergal Sharkey that we have this ttt.
He has become a bit of an activist. The water companies here are in the news because of the huge bonuses the CEOs are getting. Yet they have sewage leaks into our water supplies.
Fergal has been voicing all our concerns!
The UK and weather, it is February and yes I wish it was the Summer, oh well at least we have our music!
And just like the British Summer, Here Comes The Summer is fluffing short!
Like so many good bands they disbanded in 1983 apparantly Sharkey didn't like the direction they were goin...
So he had a solo career the other band members formed That Petrol Emotion who had a fairly decent career too.
Note: The three four YouTube videos that I have shared are not owned by me, I am simply spreading great music on Hive.
I wish that you all have a brilliant rest of your week, and until we meet again enjoy your tunes 🎶🎵🎶

We definetly looking forward to the summer. I say it every year, but that feels like the longest winter ever! lol Loved the first track the most, but here comes the summer was a cool tune too.
It is funny the days seem to speed by, yet the Winter seems to have dragged on for bloody ages!
Yeah they had some cool tunes.
Never heard of them, so many bands especially local we never got to hear. Jimmy Jimmy the song for me this week !LOLZ

Wow, I've never heard of the undertones before, glad I came across it today. These are good tunes.
The band is supppsed to be named
Firetones and not undertones cos they are are fluffing hot. I liked the teenage kicks more.
Thanks for sharing boss boss
Never heard of this band before. Thanks for sharing with us. they're really a great tune
wow!!!
I've never heard of this band before, but that is funny that they got their start playing at scout facilities. We have a small one right around the corner from us. I can't imagine going there for a show!
A band I am unfamiliar with, but I really liked Here Comes the Summer and Teenage Kicks. I checked their Wikipedia page and they did have some US exposure, just not where I lived at the time I guess. Cool stuff!
Muy buen post felicidades
Ohkay. Little Mommy's Boy sounding real good right now... rock kinda thing...
I always love your highlights. Been a while I added anything to my playlist. The Undertones aren't going in though...
