The Serenity Now!
It's pretty safe to say this week has been a trainwreck. As I mentioned, school starts for students next Monday and it has been a mad dash for @iikrypticsii and myself to get the technology ready for them and the teachers to use on the first day of school. Between teachers moving the floor plan of their rooms around or completely moving to a different room it has been a bit like a game of whack a mole.
Then you have the markets taking a big fat dump (relatively speaking) and I am actually kind of glad I have been so busy with work because it hasn't given me time to lament on the finance world. My hope is that by the time I publish this post tomorrow morning we will see a bit of a rally, but who really knows.
After that BTC new all time high I was hoping it was going to be the glorious bull that everyone was hoping for. Sadly, that either isn't the case or we just aren't quite there yet. I saw an article the other day where a "expert" was stating they think the crypto bull is going to extend into 2027. Since we aren't even finished with 2025 that seems like a bit of a stretch to me, but who knows.
I certainly wouldn't complain...
Episode 159
If you are a Seinfeld fan, you are more than likely familiar with this episode. You can read the synopsis here but honestly, you need to watch it because a lot gets lost in the translation to text.
The TL:DR is that you can basically use the phrase "The Serenity Now" to repress your negative emotions when they start to bubble up. Needless to say, if I thought that was the smart thing to do, I would be uttering that phrase pretty much every other breath this week. That's just how maddening it has been.
Honestly though, it hasn't been as bad as some other years, so I can't complain too much. @iikrypticsii might argue otherwise. He has been running around like crazy and I applaud him for that.
SMR
Along with the crypto markets, the traditional markets have been taking a bit of a beating as well. My favorite nuclear stock Nuscale has dropped down to the $30 mark per share. That's down from the $50 it was close to touching a month or so ago, but it's still up from the $10 per share I spent on it.
Like my brother in law, this is a long term hold for me. I didn't invest too much into it, so I just plan on riding it all the way to either the moon or the grave!
FSM
Despite everything else going deeply south, Fortuna Silver Mines still seems to be hanging on pretty good. In fact, it is up from the normal $4 or so it has been sitting at for a while now. The chart is actually pretty attractive over the past year with a gradual incline. Sure, there have been some big dips, but it always seems to recover.
The real problem comes when you zoom out a bit more. We are actually just getting back to where we were in 2021. Actually, looking at the max chart, it seems to be pretty cyclical that every 5 years the price climbs back up towards $8 per share or so.
I wonder if that is true for other silver/gold stocks? Can anyone from the #silvergoldstackers community speak to that?
Holozing
Just a quick update to say that I am getting close to having 1.5 million ZING tokens staked in the @holozing game. I don't really know where that puts me on any kind of rich list, but I still think it's pretty cool. Actually, I take that back. I seem to be sitting at spot 24 on the list. Looking at the other holders, I seem to be in pretty good company, so I am not complaining too much. I'm just looking forward to the game finally being released.
Somehow I have this fear that with 1.5M ZING it still isn't going to be enough. That always seems to be the case for me. It was especially true with Splinterlands.
Splinterlands
Speaking of Splinterlands, I still have some Riftwatchers packs for sale out on the market. You should check them out if you are in the market for some cards and you have the hankering to rip open some packs. I can't promise you will get any GFL's, but I can promise that you will get some cards.
HIVE
I've been plugging along with HIVE. My next goal is 150,000 HP staked and I am slowly working towards that. I don't think I will hit it by the end of this year, but 110,000 is certainly possible. Especially if HIVE happens to see a pump. I've got some liquid HIVE I am just itching to move back into HBD when the price is right. We will see!

Those investment are looking good, although selling of those Riftwatcher packs may be difficult. At least at a good price... Since they can't be used in Modern values have plummeted on the older cards.
Hopefully BTC will show some consolidation and make a nice new push upward. But it's holding it's own above $110K which is very encouraging. This has been a very weird year for alt coins, and I'm really not sure what to expect from Hive prices. It wasn't all that long ago we were above $0.40, although it almost seems like an eternity at the moment.

If you look at the Silver chart it is pretty clear to me that we should be watching for the exit pretty closely. As soon as we see prices close to $50 it would signal that we are pretty close to a major top:
I still have a large position in PSLV (Physical Silver) and the chart looks to me that I should take some profits close to $14 there:
On the positive side, looks like Powell has supercharged the crypto market with his comments of coming rate cuts...

Is it The Serenity Now? I always remembered it as just Serenity Now. Hmm... might be time to watch that episode again. I remember one of my friends was going through a rough time a few years ago. She was pregnant, her husband was working overseas until after the birth, her job was giving her trouble, her mom was driving her crazy, etc. I taught her to use that phrase. I don't know if it helped, but she always used it a lot — and still does!
I always did too, but then when I went and looked at the wiki page that added "the" in front of it, so I figured I better do it just in case! I hope it helps her as well though repressing emotions isn't always the best move!
I must start Seinfield as I am watching Curb Your Enthusiasm and I find that hilarious. If Larry David wrote Seinfield I think I will like it. I though Jerry's appearences in Curb were very funny . All improvised with Larry and you could see them laughing in parts.
I've never watched that show, but Seinfeld is one of my all time favorites. It just had so many classic lines and plots.
Schools will be back soon here, but that doesn't really affect me.
I've sold a load of Splinterlands cards, so my HP will get a boost. I am shooting for 150k this year and am on target. I don't invest in much else. Of course I'd like to see the price go up, but we need growth for that to happen.
That is cool. I am not to the point where I am ready to part with my splinterlands cards just yet. Perhaps one day...
I'm not playing the game. They already lost a lot of the peak value. I'll take what I can get.

That prediction on BTC is a bit of a stretch to me, as well! When it comes to crypto, I am really conservative (or rather like a "day trader"... but I keep it much longer really)... in and out is my thing, and so far so good!!! After all, it has no backing of real assets, unlike stocks and precious metals.
I hope you are prepared for next week. I know how it is when schools are opening!!!

Teachers moving stuff around reminds me of classmates switching seats last minute, it’s always a game of whack-a-mole too. Hope things settle down soon, kind of like how we hope exams will magically get easier 😂.
I never seem to be able to get into these hive economics for switching from HBD and back...
What do you use to get the market notification on price increase or decrease?
Cause sometimes when I check I see it has tanked or already spiked and I've missed the ideal selling or buying points.
