Phone photography contest #88 - Soccer, Friends, Food, Music and Dance

Hi, everyone. I welcome you all to my blog and a beautiful end of November. Which better way to end the month than having fun time with friends with other fun activities like soccer, race and dance. So the get-together event was planned with a objective. A friend and sister changed congregation (a place of worship) due to distance and the stress of meeting up with activities on the other side. After much consideration, they decided to move to a congregation closer to them. It was a tough decision as they didn't want to live. It was necessary they left because they now have two children, carrying the children to and from meeting wasn't always easy for them, especially on their mother. So after the Convention, they decided to start a new service year in another congregation closer to them.

We decided to plan a parting party for them, to appreciate them for all their efforts and encouragement to the people. It started as a small plan and then everyone liked the idea, before you know it, boom it turned big. We got an open field, where soccer could be played for entertainment. After that, we did race and it was fun, even though I stopped halfway.

The family was touched, they never believed we could go all out just to show appreciation for them. We had fun dancing, taking pictures and enjoying various of finger foods before the main drinks.

I was in charge of the foods, and I made sure it got to everyone. I even extended to random people that were not part of us because I knew they came for the food and we had excess.

It was a fun experience and I enjoyed trying varieties of foods. We had foods from different volunteers, drinks, sweets and snacks. The whole thing was rounded up with music and freestyle dance moves. Everyone was happy and I #feelgood that everything went well according to plans.

Apart from the snacks, the meal I enjoyed most was the jollof rice. It was so delicious, colorful, smoky and full of flavors. If I could expand my stomach to have more of the jollof, i wouldn't have hesitated .... 😆 😆
