I am battling in Wild format and unfortunately missed the last brawl. But the battling is not the only aspect in the Splinterlands game, the Land is another part and the last townhall throw light on some upcoming interesting updated on same. The update under Land Phase 2 gone completely shifts your thinking about plot utility in Splinterlands game ecosystem. The team has shared the exciting building concepts currently planned - The Pack Factory. Is not this exciting and amazing to see how the land plots will directly connect back to the core trading card economy and pack opening loops. We are gone discuss how the Pack Factory works and why it changes the entire Land meta in this post.

If you are playing the game for more then 3 years you must be aware of that the players were getting SPS for holding the plots, then the resources production come into effect and raw resources production become the main work on plots and we were producing and harvesting the wood, stone, iron or magic essences. But as the team has indicates that this this will be more then just a basic farming mini game and functions like a interconnected web3 manufacturing ecosystem. In Phase 2 the active plots will turn into an active manufacturing hub and instead of simply listing raw harvested goods on the internal market, landowners will be able to take standard card packs, combine them with their refined land resources and essences, and process them inside the Pack Factory. Players will be able to craft form their land building specialized packs like Alchemy Packs or Legendary Packs.

The mechanism itself is very interesting and it is it is tightly it integrates with the rest of Land Phase 2, its not like you just drop a building on a plot and instantly start printing specialized packs.
To activate and operate Phase 2 structures, players will need to stake a flat amount of DEC (estimated around 50 to 100 DEC per building) to turn on functionality. Furthermore the specialized buildings strictly require an assigned worker card (such as a Visions of Verarico card or Electro Fox) to prevent production from dropping to zero. To craft the high tire Alchemy and Legendary packs, players need to supply a specific refined ores and essences produced by active plots. The requirement of DEC, worker card leveling and refined resources is one important aspect which play a important role in economics of the game.

In my opinion the changes will fill new energy into the players and as well as in the economy of the game. The Raw resources produced form the plots will have new use case and the crafting of high level packs will ensure that they are continuously getting consumed or burned. The players has the choice, they can sell raw materials on internal markets, refine them in the Artisan Quarter, or process them into specialized packs to trade in market. Standard card packs gain an additional layer of value retention because they serve as the foundational ingredient required to craft specialized, high-tier packs with boosted legendary drop rates.
Kudos to the entire Splinterlands team for designing systems that tie land production directly back into the core collecting experience.

Are you planning to build a Pack Factory on your land plots once Phase 2 launches, or will you be selling your refined resources on the market to crafters? Let’s talk strategy in the comments below!
