Greetings Fabulous Felines and Hoomans of Hivelandia and surrounding communities!
Today was a rainy and windy day, so the Hoomans stayed indoors... and today it was the Mom-Hooman who got to entertain the kittens in her office.
Nala has completely adopted my old basket; Shangri is a little jealous!
Whereas both kittens love being in the Mom-Hooman's office, there is serious competition for Curator Cat's old basket by the window, overlooking the driveway.
Nala took the prized spot early in the day, and for a while Shangri wasn't really interested... but after a while he started getting restless and walking around in the office and hallway, meowing.
When Nala got up to go get a snack, guess who moved right on in?
Shangri takes over the basket...
A few minutes later, it was Nala's to walk around and meow forelornly.
Of course, the two sleep together in many other corners of the house... this particular spot is highly coveted, of course.
Shangri falls asleep
Shangri had a good nap in the basket, and then heard the Dad-Hooman coming up the stairs, so he dashed out to see what was happening!
Of course, Nala wasted no time reclaiming the basket...
Nala, looking very pleased with herself!
Of course, Shangri wasn't entirely happy with that, when he returned to the Mom-Hooman's office.
He started meowing again, and then considering whether he might make a play for the basket, but his sister would have none of it...
Can I come up? Please? Not a chance!
This little scene played out multiple times during the day...
Eventually, a compromise was reached and both of them slept in the basket together, for a while.
This works fine, for now — but they are still just kittens and it's doubtful there will be room for two cats in that basket, especially given that Shangri will likely end up growing into a larger cat than Shadow, and Shadow fills that basket!
Only time will tell.
Regardless, the kittens are providing a constant stream of cute photos, so we'll keep the best ones coming for as long as it lasts!
Earlier today, the Mom-Hooman shared some of our photos with the nice folks at the animal shelter, which we had promised we'd do, when we originally adopted Shangri and Nala. They are fitting in very well, and we are so grateful that they have become part of our household!
All of today's photos courtesy of @cosmictriage who's often a contributor to the Curator Cat blog.
Meanwhile, Curator Cat took it all in stride, and responded to the situation by taking a long nap next to the Dad-Hooman's desk. All that playing with kittens and running around is exhausting work, don'tcha know?
As always, thanks for visiting our cat blog, and we hope to see you again soon!
If you're a cat lover and often/sometimes post pictures or other content that includes your feline friends, why not become an active part of Hive's growing Cat Communities?
These are some of the more active Cat Communities — why not join them ALL? Many of the allow you to share your cat posts, even if you started at a different community!
HiveCats by @curatorcat is a central "gathering place" for cat content on Hive; promoting the use of the #hivecats tag for feline content!
Cat Snaps by @manorvillemike is a place to post pictures of your cats when you don't have a whole lot to say beyond just sharing your cute photos!
Caturday by @saboin is a community where we get to celebrate posts relating to Saturday — aka "Caturday" — our own special day!
Cat Photos by @andrarchy is a "mixed use" cat content community; posts can be just photos or longer, as long as the subject is CATS!
Cats by @captainklaus (and Sissi!) is another "general" cat content community.
There are a number of other feline communities listed on Hive, but I am not sharing them for now as they have not had any activity (by their Admins OR users) since the Steem/Hive fork. Updates as they become available!

The kittens are so cute! They are just like children fighting for the same toy! I hope you could find another similar basket and place it nearby.
That's funny about the basket. At least for now they can both fit...
