The Final Joy of Manggahan 🥭 Colorful Street Dance - Part 3

Manggahan Street Dance - Part 3

I have already shared Part 1 and Part 2 of our festival street dance journey. Now, welcome to the third and final part of the Manggahan street dance competition. 🥳

The afternoon was moving fast. The bright sun went down, and the clear light blue sky slowly turned into a deep, dark blue. On the horizon, a beautiful glow of yellow and warm orange painted the edges of the trees. The sun was no longer visible, but the night was not going to be quiet. Even though daylight was leaving us, the real fun and energy were just getting started.

Here are the last clusters to perform on the street.

The street came alive with amazing energy as the new groups rushed onto the pavement. The dancers did not look tired at all. Instead, their faces were full of huge smiles and joy.

The first group is from the Aeta community. They showcase their livelihood, which is charcoal and firewood. Some dancers carried heavy woven baskets high on their heads, filled with mangos. Their movements were quick, proud, and perfectly in time with the loud beating of the drums.

The next performers were from a Baptist school on the island.

The younger performers ran down the road carrying big, bright yellow mango props. They wore sky blue costumes with neon green, yellow, and orange strips.

But, after those cute little performers, a bit older dancers came sprinting and energetically raised even bigger mango props.

As darkness took over the town, the costumes began to look even more magical under the streetlights.

One group wore shiny blue and green outfits with shimmering headpieces that glowed in the night. Another group came out spinning in giant golden wings that looked like birds or butterflies floating through the air. The contrast between the dark twilight sky and the flashing yellow, orange, and green outfits made every single turn look beautiful.

These last clusters gave everything they had to the street performance. The crowd clapped loudly, cheered, and waved as the parade passed by.

But the dancing is not over yet. Now that the street parade is complete, all these wonderful groups are heading straight to the main arena. Next up is the big tribe showdown, where they will perform their full stories and dramatic routines under the bright stadium lights.
