Hello Splinterlands Summoners and welcome to another edition of Social Media Challenge! Our guild have just finished our recent brawl. In today's post, I will show our performance, the rewards we received and the Gladiator cards I bought from the shop.
Our guild finished third in this brawl with two hundred nineteen points (219) from seventy three wins and seventy four losses. We earned ninety four crowns that can be used to upgrade our guild buildings.
I contributed fifteen points with five wins out of seven battles. Each participating member earned 4,900 Merits and 78 SPS. It's a nice haul for joining weekly brawls. This is why I make it a point to join but also ensure that I have the competitive deck to play in the fray that I choose.
I accumulated over ten thousand Merits which I used to buy five Gladius cases. Each Gladius case contain five cards with one guaranteed rare or higher. This means I will have twenty five new cards added to my deck that I can use them to upgrade some of my cards if I have enough copies. I had hopes to get new legendary cards since I have a couple that I wanted to level up.
Unfortunately, the cards I got were all commons and rares. There were no legendary or epic cards from this batch of Gladius cases. However, I got some decent cards like Katrelba Gobson who is the strongest common card in my opinion. With her Double Strike and Sneak abilities, her damage is great that she can rival even legendary cards.
Isgald Vorst is one of the most used card in the Water splinter. She has decent melee attack and Opportunity ability. Not having Double Strike put her below Katrelba Gobson.
Orella Abadon and Alfredo are good rare cards of the Fire and Water splinters respectively. They are both two mana cards that are great in low mana and Little League battles.
Two of my legendary cards need just one more copy to be upgraded.
Flagulon Reine is a strong magic card with Blast ability. Upgrading her to level two will grant her the Shatter ability, useful against heavily armored enemy units.
Sola Ranjell is a healer and a good support card. Levelling her to two will grant her another support ability, Cleanse, which will be useful in Noxious Fumes ruleset.
I will try my luck in the next brawl and hopefully I can pull the legendary cards I like and upgrade them.
The battle is only for nineteen mana so it severely limits my choice of units. I was also in a fray that uses gold foils so there were not enough cards to choose from. The relevant rulesets were offsetting: Armored Up and Blood and Sunder.
I chose the Earth splinter with Kaylia Silverleaf for my archon. She debuffs magic attacks and has a powerful Bloodline Dominion ability, Execute granted to all elves.
For my tank, I had Quilliun Legionary. It's a ranged unit and has the Close Ranged and Thorns ability. It deals two ranged damage and has two speed. It also has an armor and nine health for sustainability. A decent tank and a good all around card.
In second position I had the Thanalorian Blade. She deals two melee damage and has three speed. For defense she has an armor and five health. I often use her as a second tank in low mana battles. She has the Execute and Opportunity abilities, a deadly combination against low health enemy units.
In third position, I had the Gladiator card Bertrol Gobson. He is only a two mana card that fits right in my team in this low mana battle. In spite of his low mana, he packs quite a punch. He deals two melee damage and quite fast with four speed. He also has the Opportunity ability so he's a great unit to combo with the Thanalorian Blade.
The enemy team has a higher level archon but his choice of units leaves a lot to be desired. His tank was the Shock Trooper, a unit that I would not choose for tank duties being a magic unit. This is followed by a couple of units with Charge ability. Finally he has Istgald Vorst in the last position. His Istgald is level five and has a strong attack and great speed.
My Quilliun Legionary is a great tank in this battle. He was able to hang on and survive while my two damage dealers did their job. Thanalorian Blade and Bertrol Gobson is a great combo with both having the Opportunity ability. Bertrol will damage the enemy armor while Thanalorian Blade hits the same target and Executes it.
I really enjoy participating in Brawls and always look forward to them each week. Guild Brawls not only strengthen our guild by earning Crowns but also reward members with personal gains like Merits and SPS. As we collect more Crowns, our guild can upgrade its buildings, unlocking better shops and improving barracks buffs that benefit everyone. Being part of a guild also comes with great perks, such as discounted shop prices and earning bonuses. If you’re not in a guild yet, now’s the perfect time to join and experience these benefits!
