Sweet Tokens, Spicy Treats, and Jewelry Hunts: The Small Highlights of My Tuesday!

Hello my dear hivers in @hiveph community! “LJ” here, and today I will share another fun life story to y’all!

Today, was another typical Tuesday at the office, but it turned out to be full of little surprises that made the day special. The morning started with the usual rush of paperwork.

As I am super focused on my computer, a vendor stopped by to sell some siomai. She had a full tub with spicy and not spicy sauces. And I chose the spicy one, thinking it would be just mildly hot. I was wrong, it was super spicy! After 3 pieces, my tongue was burning, so I decided to pack up the rest and bring them home for later.

By 11 a.m., my bff at work and I headed out for lunch at the small eatery near our school. We chatted over meals, sharing stories, and laughing about the little things happening in the office.

On my way back, one of the teachers approached me with a small token of appreciation for helping judge the “Buwan ng Wika” contest recently. I did not open it right away, but I was touched by the gesture.

Back at home, I finally opened the token and was so happy to see it was three packs of my favorite pilinut candies! My family was just as excited so we shared the sweets together. That thoughtful gift instantly brightened my mood and reminded me how meaningful small acts of kindness can be.

By 1 p.m, I was back at school, diving into some paperwork again. Around 3 p.m., my officemates and I took a merienda break with “Chicken Pesto Pasta” that we ordered from a cafè nearby. The pasta was delicious! And we enjoyed the moment sharing jokes and light conversations.

When the workday finally ended, my close friend, who is also our school nurse, invited me and my bff to stop by “Cebuana Lhuiller” Pawnshop. She said they were having a “Subasta Sale” on jewelry, and we were curious to check it out. It was fun browsing through the pieces, imagining what each could be paired with or gifted to.

My close friend found a beautiful necklace that she plans to give to her husband, and she was so thrilled with her find. Seeing her excitement made me happy too. It’s always heartwarming to see people find something meaningful for their loved ones.

Walking home afterward, I felt grateful for the day. It wasn’t anything extraordinary, just paperwork, meals, and errands but the small moments stood out. That spicy siomai that made me laugh at my own mistake, the sweet gift of my favorite pilinut candies, and the joy of sharing simple experiences with friends. These little things are what make an ordinary Tuesday feel truly special and wonderful.
