A Day Full of Unexpected Joys and Surprises: Attending Morning Mass with Colleagues, Discovering my Son Ranked 1st in Class and a Heartwarming Lunch!

Hello my dear hivers! Hello to the wonderful @hiveph community! Another day, another blog. This is me again “LJ” and I will share another wonderful life story to y’all!

Last Wednesday turned out to be one of the busiest yet most memorable days I had in a while. My morning started early because I need to attend a mass together with my co-workers. It was a special celebration for teachers, and every school in our town participated. The church was completely filled with teachers and school staff. The atmosphere felt solemn yet inspiring since we were all united by faith.

After the mass, our HR Ma’am Leny, invited us to have lunch out since it was already 11 a.m. and we still had to return to work by 1 p.m. Some of my co-workers agreed to join. I told them that I would just follow later because I had to attend a short meeting at my son Reygan’s school for the releasing of their cards for the 1st Quarter. It was convenient for me since his school was right next to the church. I was able to get there quickly.

When I arrived, the meeting had already begun. The adviser was already announcing the names of students who made it to the honors list for the 1st Quarter. I felt a little nervous but excited as I listened. I wondered how my son did this grading period.

Then the adviser finally announced the “Top 1” in their class. To my surprise and absolute delight, it was Reygan’s name was called! My heart bursted with happiness! I honestly did not expect it because we never put pressure on him when it comes to studying. We always encourage him to do his best, but we never demanded top ranks. That made the moment more meaningful. His hard work and self-discipline paid off on its own.

I looked at him and saw his face light up with joy. His classmates and other parents there clapped for him, and her adviser smiled warmly, clearly proud of his achievements too.

As a mother, it was one of those unforgettable moments where you feel that all the small sacrifices are simply worth it. Seeing him happy and confident made me even prouder.

Right after, I decided to bring him along to our lunch out. I wanted him to celebrate with me and my co-workers. When we arrived at the restaurant, the timing was perfect! The food was just being served. The table was filled with delicious dishes. We got mixed seafood, crispy lechon kawali, buffalo chicken, fried rice and chopsuey.

Everyone welcomed Reygan warmly and congratulated him for his recent achievement. It felt like a small celebration for him. We all enjoyed the delicious food and each other’s company.

That afternoon, I carried with me a heart full of gratitude and joy. What started as just a busy day turned into a milestone for my son’s school journey. It reminded me that sometimes the best surprises come when we least expect them. Truly, that Wednesday was more than just a busy day. It was a day of blessings and a proud moment I will cherish forever!
