Caring for My Mother: A Daughter's Responsibility, Caring Our Mother is not a Burden it is A Blessing

It was a blessed morning that suddenly turned into an unexpected situation. I had to go home urgently because my mother was involved in an accident. She was sidesweep by a tricycle whole crossing the highway at a pedestrian lane. Suffered a cut on her leg and was immediately brought to the nearest hospital in Tamondong. I received a call saying she was already there, so I rushed as fast as I could to be with her and help take care of everything.

At the moment, fear and worry filled my heart. I'm so nervouse and praying that my mother's hoping she's okay. As a daughter, seeing my mother hurt is not easy. Still, I choose to be thankful because her injury were not severe. She was not only seriously harmed and that alone was a big blessing for our family. Sometimes, in difficult moments, gratitude is what keeps us strong.

When she was in Tamondong hospital there's no on duty surgeon, I and my siblings decided to transfer our mother in Sultan Kudarat Provincial hospital, at first the staff in Tamondong discourage us because ni Skph it's hard to process and so many patients waiting there. But blessing in the skies, we have a contact there so she help us to make easy our processing. So we paid the surgical services rendered by the Tamondong hospital.

We transfered to our Provincial hospital, I amazed with the services rendered. The service was fast and there was zero billing. Our Provincial hospital has no Cashier at all. The medicine's were free and the staff were kind and efficient. After her wound was stitched we were allowed to go home the next day, we traveled back to the mountain to my parents home, so she could rest properly.

I decided to take a five day leave from work to make sure my mother was doing well I know here very well she is so strong and hard working and even with a wound she would still try to work, That's why I wanted to stay with her, to remind her to rest and give her the care she needed.

This experience made me realize something important. Life feels different when a parent or a family member gets sick or hurt. As a children we have a responsibility to care for our parents. I know not everyone agrees with this, but for me, caring for our parents is an act of love and gratitude.

My siblings were busy with their own work and responsibilities, my one sister she was responsible with all the vegetables and work doing with my mother, my eldest brother Incharge with the police because the driver surrendered himself to the police but we decided to help him also because this is an accident no one wants of this. And he has own family to feed. His family visited us in hospital. And that means all. In times like this, that family time is so precious. Caring for our parents is not a burden, it is a blessing.
