Hello everyone! Today is Easter Sunday, and we decided to celebrate it in a very simple but happy way at home. No big plans just real moments with family.
Earlier today, we all agreed to cook binignit. It’s one of our favorite comfort foods, and my childhood favorite snacks and since everyone was around, it naturally turned into a tulong-tulong kind of cooking. You know, the type where no one is forced, but everyone just joins in.

I went out to buy the ingredients like Brown Sugar, Sago pearl, Landang, Condensed milk, and we get in our backyard garden the sweet potato, banana and ube, it was a bit hot outside, but I didn’t mind since I was already thinking about how good the binignit would taste later. Meanwhile, my husband went straight to our backyard to get coconuts. I could already hear him cracking them open and later grating them. Honestly, that part always looks tiring, but he still did it.

My sister-in-law was already outside preparing the cooking area. She also helped in grating the coconut, so things moved faster. Then my nieces started slicing the ingredients bananas, ube, and sweet potatoes. They were chatting and laughing while working, so it didn’t even feel like a chore.

What made me smile more was my mother-in-law, my daughter, and my nieces making the small sticky rice balls. They were trying to shape them into tambong-tambong, but not all came out perfect. Some were too big, some too small but honestly, that made it more fun. We were laughing at each other’s creations. This is the part that my daughter enjoy the most.

When everything was ready, we started cooking. We all stayed nearby, checking the pot, mixing, and just waiting. The smell slowly filled the air, and it made everyone excited. It’s funny how food brings everyone closer without even trying.
Finally, it was cooked. We prepared bowls and sat down together. The first taste? Worth it. It felt more delicious because we all worked for it.
Before we finished everything, we decided to share. We gave one bowl each to our neighbors. It was a simple gesture, but it made us feel happy.

Thank you for reading my story, this is my owned picture. Edited in Canva. Nothing grand really happened today, but it was real. Just laughter, teamwork, and good food. Sometimes, these are the kind of days that stay in our hearts the longest.
