Greetings, Fabulous Felines and Hoomans of Hivelandia and surrounding communities!

I hope you are doing well on this almost-autumn weekend! It is Saturday, and now it is time for another round of Caturday cat photos!

The kitten integration process continues, and our new little fur friends are pretty much settled in, now.

The Hoomans now let Shangri and Nala have the full run of the upstairs part of the house... and after a couple of slightly nervous explorations — including some time spent hiding under the bed! — they have become pretty relaxed with their new surroundings.

I am quite content with my "Uncle Shadow" role, although sometimes I just want to retreat to my corner and nap, because these little guys have seemingly endless energy!

On the plus side, we have come to see that both of them are very sweet natured, and there have been no disagreements, hissing or growling.

Learning a bit more about the kittens' backstory shed some light on why they were so skittish when they first arrived.

Much like original Curator Cat "Shadow," it was a story of a box of kittens left by the shelter front gate. In this case, they were the offspring of a barn cat.

They have actually relaxed remarkably quickly, but they have also been the beneficiaries of the Hoomans' "rapid adjustment" program, which is very time and attention intensive and intended to foster trust that nothing bad is going to happen.

I am very grateful for my very patient cat oriented Hoomans!

Hello!

We're still going somewhat slowly with Smudge and the introduction process, because she's such a senior citizen kitty.

There have been a few "supervised" interactions, and those have gone quite well... and in time, everyone will roam freely. Thankfully, we have plenty of time!

Meanwhile, the kittens have kept the Hoomans very busy, and they have not been fretting over the crypto markets, at all.

I'm actually very grateful for that, as I think they worry far too much!

As for myself, I am slowly gaining on my 2024 Hive goal and feel cautious optimistic that I might even reach it before the end of the year... in part thanks to Shangri and Nala!

I have explained to them that the cat blog is very important, and everybody has to pose for photographs on a regular basis, so we can help earn our keep!

Sometimes it's hard to find a sunny spot with peace!

Now that they have gotten past their initial skittishness, Shangri and Nala don't seem to mind the endless photography.

Which is a good thing, because they are awfully cute, and make excellent subjects!
