So you may remember our tutorial post, that I was less than thrilled about our options here on HIVE for changing keys, so I (along with @thecrazygm) made a better one - the best one!
Well, we then contacted our friend "Bob" the security analyst and spent some time trying to figure out where any flaws or exploits might come in. This is no normal app, owner key is a very sensitive thing. And "Bob" did a great job, we did indeed fix it until it was fixed!
For those of you who don't know, a great quote about "open source":
Open source just means that the source is open - it doesn't mean that it's open to contributions, that support is offered, that users are entitled to feature requests or developer time - or anything, and it doesn't mean that it's free.
So with that, we have now created our own repo on github, we are still figuring out Gitlab - but it will be there soon - as soon as we can figure out where and how we are being dumb about it 😅
And for all you normal users, remember that this super safe, verbose, slow down and check HIVE key changer tool can be found here:
Check it out, validate our code, make suggestions, create issues, use if you like to/need to - be careful out there. Our HIVE decentralized tech is super powerful. And the toolbox is being built out.
