Rotaract is a club that is both fun and fulfilling, dedicated to serving humanity while also creating time for relaxation. After all, all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy—you know how the saying goes, right? Hahaha!
One great thing about Rotaract is that when you are appointed to an office, you receive proper training to help you manage your role effectively.
In 2019, I was nominated as the Vice President of the prestigious Rotaract Club, Uyo City. Shortly after my appointment, I was informed that we would be attending a leadership training program soon. All necessary preparations were made.
On that fateful Thursday morning, we were all set for our journey to Owerri. The trip was exciting as we sang different Rotaract songs in the bus and made occasional stops to buy snacks and keep our mouths busy.
After several hours on the road, we finally arrived at Owerri and checked into the hotel where the event was hosted. We exchanged pleasantries with other club members from different states before heading to the registration desk for the usual formalities. Once registration was completed, we were assigned our hotel rooms.

Rotaract es un club divertido y gratificante, dedicado a servir a la humanidad y al mismo tiempo crear tiempo para la relajación. Después de todo, todo trabajo y nada de diversión hacen de Jack un chico aburrido, ya sabes cómo dice el refrán, ¿verdad? Jajaja.
Una gran cosa sobre Rotaract es que cuando te nombran para un cargo, recibes la capacitación adecuada para ayudarte a manejar tu papel de manera efectiva.
En 2019, me nombraron vicepresidente del prestigioso club Rotaract de la ciudad de Uyo. Poco después de mi nombramiento, me informaron de que pronto asistiríamos a un programa de capacitación en liderazgo. Se hicieron todos los preparativos necesarios.
Aquel fatídico jueves por la mañana, todo estaba listo para nuestro viaje a Owerri. El viaje fue emocionante mientras cantábamos diferentes canciones de Rotaract en el autobús y hacíamos paradas de vez en cuando para comprar bocadillos y mantener la boca ocupada.
Tras varias horas de viaje, por fin llegamos a Owerri y nos registramos en el hotel donde se celebraba el evento. Nos saludamos con otros miembros del club de distintos estados antes de dirigirnos al mostrador de inscripción para los trámites habituales. Una vez completado el registro, nos asignaron nuestras habitaciones de hotel.

Later that evening, we gathered in the conference hall for a brief welcome party, followed by a dinner and an introductory seminar. After two hours of engaging discussions and networking, we returned to our rooms to rest and prepare for the next day's activities.

Por la noche, nos reunimos en la sala de conferencias para una breve fiesta de bienvenida, seguida de una cena y un seminario introductorio. Tras dos horas de interesantes debates y contactos, regresamos a nuestras habitaciones para descansar y prepararnos para las actividades del día siguiente.

The event itself was nothing short of amazing! We attended insightful leadership seminars, learned valuable lessons, networked with fellow Rotaractors, and made new friends.

El evento en sí fue increíble. Asistimos a interesantes seminarios sobre liderazgo, aprendimos valiosas lecciones, establecimos contactos con otros rotaractianos e hicimos nuevos amigos.

On Saturday night, after the final seminar, we decided to go out, unwind, and have some fun before heading back to our respective clubs the next day. It was truly a memorable experience and a great throwback!
To this day, I remain an active member of the Rotary/Rotaract Club, continuing to contribute to humanitarian efforts. If you're looking for a place to serve humanity while also enjoying great company, you can join us anywhere!

El sábado por la noche, después del último seminario, decidimos salir, relajarnos y divertirnos antes de regresar a nuestros respectivos clubes al día siguiente. Fue una experiencia memorable y un gran recuerdo.
A día de hoy, sigo siendo un socio activo del Club Rotario/Rotaract, y continúo contribuyendo a los esfuerzos humanitarios. Si buscas un lugar donde servir a la humanidad al tiempo que disfrutas de una gran compañía, ¡puedes unirte a nosotros en cualquier lugar!
