Here, her probes appeared as three swirling torpedos. Blue comets, trailing each other in a lazy circle around the base of the central column of red light.

He stumbled as she synced directly into him, his face a mess of horrible realization. He looked at her, pleading in his eyes. She kept her face still and surged the connection. There was a sharp snap as both his crystals shattered. Kelron’s eyes burned bright red as he sank to his knees, his weapons clattering to the floor. Then the light went out, and he died quietly in a pile on the ground.

Nice work, keep it up!

She pulsed her probes a bit, testing the quality of their grip. They were wobbly, as expected. She worked on slowly increasing pressure on the probe that was merged into the incoming streams. It took about ten minutes to redirect them into a useless loop.

Xe looked up, face strained, eyes bulging. She nodded, brought the sword up, and sensed an object coming fast at her from behind. June sidestepped and swung the blade. A flat, disc-like rock smacked off her sword. She spun, picking up a new signature.

I told you man in the 2nd last post that something disastrous would be coming and get us into climax of the story. What a great battle it was, here I share the line from the last post.

A disorganized fireburst bloomed out of Viktor, the last of xim surely gathered up in it. It curled in a sheet as it rose from xis crumpled, bloodied body and buried itself in the underside of the wood beam ceiling.
