Commander, the data streams are flooding in from across the galaxy network, and what our deep space monitoring stations have discovered will shake you to your core. The universe itself - every star, every world, every trace of civilization you've ever known.... has been handed a death sentence.

Nine months. A baby is born.

That's all we have. That's all anyone has.

The Cosmic Revelation

The Quantum Observatory's emergency broadcast pierced through subspace three days ago, carrying news that turned the blood of every commander cold. Reality is collapsing. The fundamental forces that hold existence together are unraveling like threads in a cosmic tapestry, and there's nothing, absolutely nothing, that can stop it. In an act of desperate brilliance continuously crunching the new data, the Deep Space Research Consortium has identified some impossible hope: the probabilistic existence of three solar systems in the outer rim galaxies that will somehow survive the universal destruction. There will be three tiny islands of existence in an ocean of oblivion.

The problem? They can't tell us where they are. Not yet. They need six months.

A Universe with an Expiration Date

@Team.Mithril in collaboration with @hive.pizza are proud to announce MOON 2: "To the End of the Universe" – a groundbreaking space strategy experience that fundamentally reimagines what it means to build an empire when time itself is your greatest enemy.

Unlike traditional space strategy games where empires expand indefinitely, MOON Universe 2 presents players with an unprecedented reality: complete universal destruction in exactly 9 months. There is no way you can avoid or exploit this mechanic, it will be the driving force behind every strategic decision made in the game.

Starting in the doomed Galaxy 1, players race against cosmic extinction towards the outer reaches while scientists gradually reveal clues about the only three solar systems in distant outer galaxies that will survive the catastrophe.

The Discovery Phase

The first six months operate as a living mystery. Each month brings new clues about where the three survivor systems might be located, blending real mathematical concepts and astronomical principles into a community-driven puzzle. Players must balance immediate empire building with long-term positioning, never knowing if their strategy will prove correct until the final revelations.

These monthly clue releases serve as natural community events, driving engagement through our discord, State of the Moonion Live Events, and alliance negotiations. It's collaborative competition at its finest – you're racing against time, not just each other.

Why This Changes Everything

Multiple Winners: Anyone who reaches the survivor systems wins; the three solar systems hold a total of 39 planet slots.
This win condition reduces toxic competition while maintaining strategic depth. Winners transfer their survivor colonies to Universe 1, a permanent realm, creating real value for the grand prize on a 9-month "investment".

Narrative Integration: The cosmic extinction storyline isn't flavor text – it's the core mechanic. Story and gameplay are inseparable, creating the first space strategy game where narrative drives every click forward in advancement.

Technical Innovation

As an open-source fork of the classic OGame formula, MOON continues pushing boundaries in community-driven development. Universe 2's progressive revelation system and cross-universe progression represent significant technical achievements that benefit the entire gaming community.

The free-to-play model includes optional progression boosters ("officers"), heavily nerfed from Universe 1, but the core experience remains accessible to all - including optional HIVE integration for on-chain rewardification. The entire game is completely accessible with nothing more than an email and a web browser.
