Today, I would like to share my experience with the Genesis League Goals (GLG) game. I first discovered GLG while asking AI about the Arcade Colony project on Hive. As it turns out, GLG is a part of the broader Arcade Colony ecosystem.
That is when I came across the COLONY airdrop opportunity. To qualify, I needed to stake 10,000 GLX tokens, so I decided to go for it.
First, I visited tribaldex.com and bought 10,000 GLX, which cost me about $3. Then, I connected my Hive account to the Genesis League Sports platform using Hive Keychain.
Inside the dashboard, I saw three tokens: GLX, GLUSD, and GLGT. I transferred my GLX from Hive Engine to the in-game wallet by selecting Transfer In, and once it arrived, I staked it.
After 6 days, I have earned 2.873 GLGT tokens as staking rewards.
However, I have not received any COLONY tokens yet. I think this is because the airdrop follows a long-term distribution schedule:
The COLONY airdrop is not a one-time drop. Its distributed daily over five years.
So, it is possible that the airdrop has not reached my account yet due to this schedule.
Today, I explored the Genesis League Goals game via their site: genesisleaguesports.com/token/glgt.
It is an NFT card football game with real-time action, somewhat like Splinterlands but with football strategy. In a match, both you and your opponent field 7 cards each. When your midfielder has the ball, you can click on another one of your NFTs to pass it.
Whether the pass succeeds depends on the level and stats of your NFT cards. If your cards level is lower than your opponent, you may lose possession. That is my basic understanding so far, I still need to study more about card mechanics and how player stats work.
To fully access the game, I will need to buy the Franchise License One 2023 Pack for $13. It unlocks the full experience and allows participation in tournaments and future content.
Good news is, I can purchase it using Hive tokens via Hive Keychain.
Unfortunately, I dont currently have enough HIVE in my account. But I plan to buy the pack later and dive deeper into the game mechanics.
Thats all for my current journey with Genesis League Sports.I am still learning, and I will keep sharing my progress.
What do you think of GLG and the Arcade Colony ecosystem?
This is not a financial advice post. I recommend that do your due diligence before making any major investments.
