Hello Splinterlands summoners and welcome to my blog. Last week, the much awaited Frontier Jackpot cards have been announced. These are four new cards that will spice up if not change the current meta. Today, after maintenance, the cards are now live.
I was excited to be one of the first to get the jackpot cards so I saved my energy and waited for the maintenance before doing any battles. After winning five battles and able to claim rewards, there is a 1.5% chance of getting the jackpot chest.

However it was not my lucky day as the jackpot cards have remained elusive so far. Taking this into account, it looks like it will take some time before the cards can be levelled up much less maxed.
Before the jackpot cards went live, I noticed an influx of new players in the Frontier. Not necessarily new Splinterlands players but maybe veterans who didn't play the Frontier before decided that it's interesting enough to join the battles in the Frontier. This was evident when I saw Frontier cards, especially the archons and legendary cards, were increasing prices in the in game market and I was able to sell some of my extra cards at great prices.
To whet our appetites, let's take a look at the cards in more detail.

Aimee Whisperwind is the common card that will diversify the magic laden Water splinter. She's a melee unit that deals decent damage at level one and will be great at level three. Further, she has the Opportunity ability that enables her to attack from any position. She also has the Fury ability that will be a counter to Taunt units like New Beluroc Aegis.

The Necrulencian Thief is the rare card. It has the same attack as Aimee Whisperwind that starts with two melee damage. It raises its attack starting from level three and will get the Poison ability at level four in addition to its starting ability, Sneak.

The White Chickadee is a low mana, no attack unit that has good utilities. At level one, it already has the Flying ability that will make it a good unit in Earthquake rulesets. Its speed and health at level one leaves much to be desired though and will improve at level two. At level three it gets its best support ability, Tank Heal that will enable it to support the front line units.

Legendary card Eris Bimblenok introduces magic to the physical attack heavy Fire team. He deals two magic damage at level one which will increase to three at level two. He comes out with the support ability Inspire but doesn't get an additional ability at level two.
The new Jackpot cards in the Frontier adds to the excitement of earning reward chests and winning every battles. These cards reward our time and attention, where every win counts. Each chest will have a slim but possible 1.5% chance of a lucky ultra-rare pull , Frontier now feels more exciting and rewarding. These new cards motivate players like me to battle in the Frontier and earn these ultra-rare cards.
